โค๏ธ Sometimes, education is about more than a qualification. Itโs about bringing a family home together. ๐ณ๐ฟ
For some families, the hardest part of building a life overseas isnโt starting over.
Itโs being separated from the people you love most. ๐
This is the story of Jhoana โ an eldest daughter who had been living in the Philippines while her family was already in New Zealand.
Jhoana had previously visited New Zealand as a visitor. However, at 22 years old, she was no longer able to come under the usual dependent-child temporary visa arrangements and needed to find her own pathway to New Zealand.
While her siblings were able to join their family, Jhoana remained in the Philippines.
And for her parents, having their eldest daughter so far away was heartbreaking.
They wanted their family to be together again. โค๏ธ
So instead of giving up, they looked for another pathway.
Education became that pathway. ๐๐ณ๐ฟ
With the right course and support, Jhoana was able to pursue her own journey as an international student in New Zealand.
And on 29 July 2026, something very special happenedโฆ
Jhoana finally arrived in New Zealand. ๐ณ๐ฟโค๏ธ
After the distance, the waiting, and the difficult goodbyes โ she is finally back with her family.
She will begin her studies this September at:
๐ New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Social and Community Services) โ Level 4
๐ซ New Zealand Skills and Education College (NZSE)
๐ Hamilton, New Zealand

September 2026 Intake
For RSD Pathways, this is more than another successful student placement.
This is a story about family, courage, opportunity and new beginnings.
We are incredibly grateful that Jhoana and her family trusted us to be part of their journey.
Seeing this family together again reminds us why we do what we do.
Because sometimes, helping a student study in New Zealand means helping a family find their way back to each other. โค๏ธ
Welcome to New Zealand, Jhoana! ๐ณ๐ฟ๐
Your new chapter starts here. โจ
