Congratulations, Marvin Tao!
We are proud to celebrate Marvin’s graduation from the University of Auckland, where he has completed six years of study and earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) this week.
In 2026, Marvin will begin his medical career as a PGY1 House Officer at Waikato Hospital. Fascinated by the “magic” of medicine and its power to create change, he is currently exploring future specialisation options in Infectious Diseases or Radiology, with a strong desire to remain involved in medical research and the advancement of clinical knowledge.
With special thanks to his mentor Dr Dean Singleton (and former mentor Dr Graeme Finlay) and his buddy Thomas Swinburn, Marvin has shown dedication, curiosity, and generosity throughout his journey, including giving back as a buddy and supporting other SEF medical students.
We look forward to watching Marvin make a meaningful impact in medicine and beyond — congratulations on an outstanding achievement!
