Kia ora koutou,
Below is the latest advice from Civil Defence for areas that have not been advised to evacuate.
Pls continue to check the Civil Defence website for the most updated information and don't believe in any rumours.
https://www.civildefence.govt.nz/
There is no need to evacuate the following areas unless directly advised by local civil defence authorities.
Strong and unusual currents and unpredictable surges near the shore are expected in the following areas. This means a threat to beach, harbour, estuary and small boat activities.
The West Coast of the North Island from AHIPARA to MAKARA including the West Coast of Auckland, Manukau Harbour, New Plymouth, Whanganui and the Kapiti Coast.
The East Coast of the North Island from WHANGAREI to MATATA including Whangarei, the East Coast of Auckland, Waiheke Island, Waitemata Harbour and Tauranga, from TOLAGA BAY to LAKE FERRY including Gisborne and Napier.
The West and South Coasts of the South Island from FAREWELL SPIT to PUYSEGUR POINT including Westport, Greymouth and Hokitika.
The top of the South Island from FAREWELL SPIT to PORT UNDERWOOD including Nelson, Picton and the Marlborough Sounds.
The East and South Coasts of the South Island from the WAIPARA RIVER to the RAKAIA RIVER including Christchurch and Banks Peninsula, from the TAIERI RIVER to PUYSEGUR POINT including Invercargill.
And STEWART ISLAND.
And the CHATHAM ISLANDS.
There is no tsunami threat in all other areas.
The first waves reached New Zealand in the areas around LOTTIN POINT at approximately 9:49am New Zealand Daylight Time.
The severity of currents and surges will vary within a particular coastal area and over the period this warning is in effect.
The first wave may not be the largest. Tsunami activity will continue for several hours and the threat must be regarded as real until this warning is cancelled.
People in all New Zealand coastal areas should:
Listen to the radio and/or TV for updates, or check www.civildefence.govt.nz
Listen to local Civil Defence authorities and follow any instructions regarding evacuation of your area
Stay out of the water (sea, rivers and estuaries, this includes boats)
Stay off beaches and shore areas
Do not go sightseeing
Share this information with family, neighbours and friends
Evacuation advice overrides the current COVID-19 Alert Level requirements. Listen to local Civil Defence authorities and follow any instructions regarding evacuation of your area. If you are told to evacuate do not stay at home. Stay 2 metres away from others if you can and if it is safe to do so.
Only messages issued by the National Emergency Management Agency represent the official warning status for New Zealand. Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) messages do not represent the official warning status for New Zealand.
This warning will remain in effect until a cancellation message is issued by the National Emergency Management Agency
Stay safe and take care of yourselves.
Ka kite,
Rrahul Dosshi
Home
People near the coast in the following areas must MOVE IMMEDIATELY to the nearest high ground, out of all tsunami evacuation zones, or as far inland as possible. DO NOT STAY AT HOME.

Kia ora koutou,
The latest wave of Tsunamis to hit NZ is devastating.
As these Earthquakes have been large, please expect aftershocks. Please reassure your families and whanau now that we are closely monitoring the situation and that we are available for support even if we are not on the ground.
Ensure your emergency kits are available now (out of an abundance of caution)
Have a quick quiet rethink to ensure that you understand the situation and know what to do in an earthquake.
The BoP team have already moved swiftly and our Bayfair Centre has been evacuated out of precaution as they are in a yellow zone. Our QA Assurance Managers are working closely with them to ascertain their safety.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to your Centre Supervisors, QA Managers or myself if we can be of any assistance whatsoever.
Kia Kaha...We’ve got this team!
Bhavini and Rrahul

Attention all whanau and parents of The Rainbow Corner Centres!
Covid-19 Alert Level 3 applies to the Auckland region from Sunday, 11.59pm the 14th Feb until midnight, the 17th Feb. Alert level-2 applies to the rest of NZ for the same period of time.
We have received guidelines from the Ministry of Education, and would like to share with you these important details for the Auckland region at Alert Level-3:
1. Early Learning Services are open for children who need to attend.
Any child who can’t be supervised at home by an appropriate person, needs to be able to attend early learning.
2. There is no such thing as an “essential service/business” at alert level 3 (only at alert level 4)
At Alert Level 3 a large range of businesses and services are operating (including early learning services and schools) which means that parents and caregivers may be required to go to work, rather than work from or stay at home.
3. Bubbles will be put in place for children attending Early Learning centres.
Bubbles of no more than 20 children will need to be formed and keep a 2-metre distance from other bubbles. Where possible, teachers stay with the same bubble of children.
4. Services will close for cleaning and contact tracing if there is a confirmed case who was infectious when at the service.
5. Sick people must stay at home.
They should seek medical advice if they have COVID-like symptoms and get tested if advised to do so. If that person displays relevant symptoms of COVID-19, tests positive for COVID-19, or has been in close contact with someone who tests positive for COVID-19, they must self-isolate.
6. Fundamental public health measures continue to apply:
• Adults should physically distance by 1 metre inside and 2 metres outside at Alert Level 3
• Hand hygiene
• Cough and sneeze etiquette
• Regularly cleaning and disinfecting high touch surfaces (daily at Alert Level 3).
Take care everyone, we will update you if Ministry of Education updates us with anything further. Thank you!
