♻️ Every Visual Arts class at Lincoln Road is on one theme this term: Sustainability.
Years 7 and 8 are collecting plastic from school and home to build animals of the ocean, the rainforest and New Zealand's native forests. The whole art group is heading to Tipping Point at the Waitakere Refuse Station, where each student picks three to five items to bring back into the sculpture.
Collection is already well underway. If you have clean, dry plastic packaging at home, send it in with your child.
Rowena Rooney is running the programme.

We're hiring a Maths and Science teacher.
North West College is looking for a full-time teacher of Mathematics and Science to join our founding team, starting Term 1, 2027.
You'll begin with our Year 9 students and grow with the College through to Year 13. We're a Creative Arts College, so every teacher also leads one weekly Creative Arts or Sport programme. Bring what you love outside your subject.
You'll need a current New Zealand practising certificate and experience teaching Maths and Science in a New Zealand secondary school. Experience with the Cambridge International Curriculum is an advantage but not essential.
Our classes are small and our team is close. You'd have a real hand in shaping the Maths and Science programmes as the College grows. Staff trauma insurance also applies after three months.
Applications close Friday 31 July. Send your CV, cover letter and a short note on your creative or sporting strengths to Principal Michelle Randles at [email protected].

Year 9 enrolments are currently closed for upcoming intakes.
Due to exceptionally high demand, all available Year 9 places have been filled and we have already established a substantial waitlist for future years. As a result, we are not currently accepting additional Year 9 applications.
If circumstances change and places become available, we will contact families already on the waitlist in the order determined by our enrolment process.

The all clear has been given. Our lockdown practice at the Lincoln Road Campus is complete, and all students, staff and visitors are safely accounted for.
Everyone stayed calm and followed instructions, which is exactly what these practices are for.
Thank you to the families who held off calling and visiting while it ran.

North West College is running a planned lockdown practice at our Lincoln Road Campus this morning. This is a practice only and there is no emergency. Please do not come to the school or phone us while the practice is underway. Staff are focused on the exercise and will not be able to respond, and we run these practices exactly as we would a real event. All updates will be posted on our school website. We appreciate your cooperation.
