PJ Day Blooming Stars Childcare Papatoetoe
With winter upon us and the colder weather well & truly setting in, we decided it might be fun to have a Pyjama Day at Blooming Stars childcare. All our little ones, including Kaiako, were excited that they could wear their PJs to the centre during the day!
As each child arrived at the centre in their warm winter PJs, they showed off their attire and conversations began about what pictures or designs were on their PJs and the different types of sleepwear they were wearing. Some children wore onesies, whilst others came with dressing gowns and slippers. Regardless of what they wore, it was clear to see that everyone looked snuggly and warm with their own blankets and favorite toys from home.
When thinking about winter and wearing their PJs, many children mentioned memories of snuggling up and watching a movie. So we decided to recreate this winter experience by setting up a quick video to watch after lunch while our tamariki snuggled in blankets with a bowl of yummy popcorn. While this was happening, the weather outside turned dark and wet – making it the perfect movie-watching experience!
Our children had a great time along with their peers and it was indeed a wonderful time of making memories for all of us.

Mother’s Day is so special to all of us as it is one day to celebrate motherhood and let our moms know how much we value their love. We all are our mom’s favorite, and no one could ever take ‘HER’ place in our lives.
At Blooming Stars, we celebrated Mother's Day on the 12th of May 2023 to appreciate and celebrate all our mothers with a wonderful afternoon tea arrangement. Our children were excited to welcome their moms with a beautiful song and dance that everyone enjoyed. Throughout the week our tamariki were busy making their own piece of art and cards to surprise their moms during the celebration and all the families enjoyed celebrating together. The most fun-filled moment was when our children got an opportunity to decorate their cookies wither their moms, we believe everyone had lots of fun being a part of this celebration.

Eid celebrations at Blooming Stars Childcare Papatoetoe.

Eid, which is Arabic for 'feast' or 'festival', is celebrated by Muslims to mark significant events in the Islamic lunar calendar.
In the 9th month, commonly known as Ramadan, Muslims far and wide observe fasting from dawn to dusk.
Eid al-Fitr is the festival of the breaking of fast where family and friends come together to indulge in a spread. It is a time when everyone wears new clothes and decorate their homes.
The first day of Eid usually starts with a communal prayer before gathering at home to celebrate with a banquet of sweet and savoury foods.
Specially made sweets and cookies are shared, and gifts or money packets are given to children and the elderly.
Eid al-Fitr is also a time when Muslims are encouraged to forgive and seek forgiveness.

We shared with the children the importance of forgiveness, what it takes to share with others and encourage living in harmony.
