We provide a well prepared learning environment that is based on Montessori education methods. We cater for children between 2 ½ and 5 years.
Established July 2013, we are an independently owned Montessori preschool located conveniently on the corner of Great North Road and Larch Street in Avondale. We have a strong foundation in Dr Maria Montessori's philosophy and, through our 'prepared environment', we provide unique learning programmes that incorporate all aspects of traditional Montessori methods while meeting the strands and learn

💧 Watercare Visit at Casa Montessori Preschool 💧
This week, our tamariki enjoyed a wonderful learning experience with the Watercare Education Team, exploring the fascinating journey of water through the water cycle. Through hands-on activities, discussions, and observations, the children learned about evaporation, condensation, and precipitation, helping them develop a deeper understanding of how water moves through our environment. This learning encourages curiosity, scientific thinking, and an appreciation for one of our most valuable natural resources.
A big thank you to the Watercare team for sharing their knowledge and creating such an engaging experience for our children.
We are excited that this is just the beginning! Watercare will be returning in Terms 3 and 4 to continue building on this learning with more exciting water-related experiences and discoveries.
Thank you, Watercare, for supporting our tamariki to become curious learners and future guardians of our environment. 💙🌏💧

This week at Casa Montessori, we proudly celebrated Pink Shirt Week! 🩷
Our tamariki enjoyed creating beautiful pink shirt crafts, sharing kind words, and taking part in meaningful conversations about friendship, kindness, and inclusion. One of the highlights was our Kindness Tree, where children added heart stickers each time they showed kindness to others. 💕🌳
It was wonderful to see our learning community filled with joy, empathy, and togetherness as we worked together to spread kindness and friendship. 🌈✨

🚓 What an exciting and memorable day at Casa Montessori Preschool!
We were so lucky to welcome Noah’s dad, Eli, and his colleague Lin, who visited us in a real police car and full police uniform! 👮♂️👮♀️
Our tamariki were fascinated as they learned about the important role police officers play in our community, including how and when to call 111 in an emergency. The children explored different police tools, sat inside the police car, and even had the chance to dress up as “little police officers” themselves! ✨
Eli and Lin also kindly brought special police badge stickers for every child, which made the experience even more exciting and meaningful. Some children jumped right in with confidence, while others took their time to observe quietly — and every child participated in their own special way. ❤️
This wonderful visit gave our tamariki a valuable opportunity to connect with real-life community helpers, build confidence, and experience something completely new in a safe and positive environment.
To finish this amazing day, we gathered together for a big group photo to remember this very special experience 📸🚔
A huge thank you to Eli and Lin for making today so unforgettable for our Casa whānau!

At the end of April, our tamariki and kaiako came together to honour and remember ANZAC Day through meaningful learning experiences and a special remembrance ceremony. 🌺
Together, we explored the importance of kindness, peace, gratitude, and remembering those who served and sacrificed for Aotearoa New Zealand.
During our outdoor ceremony, the tamariki gathered respectfully as we shared stories and discussed why ANZAC Day is important to our community. It was heartwarming to see our tamariki showing manaakitanga — caring for and respecting one another — as they participated together.
Through conversations, creative experiences, and shared moments of reflection, our tamariki were able to connect with the values of remembrance, empathy, and community. ❤️
