We are welcoming new choir singers for 2026 to our women's choir for a new programme of Celtic music - music with its roots in Scotland, Ireland and Wales including songs of the fields and the mountains, sea shanties, dances and folk stories. We rehearse on Thursday nights from 7pm to 9pm in Highbury, opposite the Birkenhead Library. Fun and challenging rehearsals led by our music director Clare Martin Singing Teacher. No need to read music as sound files and music are provided, just bring your love of singing - come along :-)

Eva Cassidy. She always takes my breath away. This very well-known Fleetwood Mac song could be sentimental but Eva makes it so genuine with her soft but strong tone helped by a great orchestral arrangement. Ave Eva, the world lost you so soon. Happy Singing, may she inspire you!

This week's video is my women's choir Belle Canto performing Ēriks Ešenvalds' Seal Lullaby in Auckland Town Hall as part of a festival of choirs, VoCo 2025. Come and hear more in our main event of the year on Saturday 1 November 7pm at St George's Presbyterian Church Takapuna.
