๐บ๐น๐ด Celebrating Tongan Language Week at Pohutukawa Kidz! ๐น๐ด๐บ
What a beautiful week of learning, celebrating and embracing Tongan culture.๐ Our tamariki enjoyed a special mat time with one of our Tongan whฤnau, who kindly joined us to share Tongan language, songs and culture with the children.
We also prepared a variety of fun and meaningful activities to help our children learn some Tongan words and celebrate the richness of the Tongan culture.
We believe it is so important to learn about, respect and celebrate different cultures, helping our tamariki grow with kindness, understanding and appreciation for the diverse world around them. ๐โค๏ธ
Mฤlล โaupito to our wonderful Tongan whฤnau for sharing your culture and language with us. ๐๐น๐ด

These hands-on experiences help nurture curiosity, encourage a love for the environment, and teach our little learners where food comes from. Thank you, Beachlands Community Garden, for providing such a beautiful space for our tamariki to explore and learn.

Today our learning space transformed into a beautiful little florist shop! ๐ธ
The children enjoyed creating their own bouquets, arranging flowers, serving customers, and taking on different roles as florists and shoppers. It has been wonderful to watch their imaginations come to life as they explored creative play, communication, and teamwork.
Dramatic play like this encourages confidence, language development, problem-solving, and social skills, all while having so much fun. We love seeing where the childrenโs imaginations take them! ๐โจ
