π¨π«§ Bubble Wrap Colour Mixing! π
Today our tamariki explored colour mixing in a fun and sensory way using bubble wrap, rollers and paint.
With layers of colourful paint underneath the bubble wrap, the children used rollers to press, push and move the colours around. As the colours mixed together, new shades began to appear!
This experience encouraged curiosity, experimentation and creativity, while also supporting fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and an understanding of cause and effect.
A little paint, a little bubble wrap and lots of discovery! π«§π¨β¨

π¨π Exploring Colour Mixing!
Today our tamariki became little scientists as we explored colour mixing using face paint on our arms.
We started with three strips of different coloured face paint, then carefully mixed each colour together to see what would happen. The children watched with curiosity as the colours transformed and new colours appeared before their eyes! β¨
This simple experience encouraged children to make predictions, experiment, observe changes and talk about their discoveries while developing their understanding of colour, cause and effect, and creativity.
We love when learning gets a little messy and a lot of fun! ππ¨

ππ¨ Mix It Up! π
This week, our tamariki have been exploring our Book of the Week, Mix It Up and taking inspiration from the colourful world of mixing, creating and experimenting.
Through syringe painting and colour mixing, the children have been investigating what happens when colours come together. Theyβve been making predictions, testing their ideas and discovering new colours through hands-on exploration.
A wonderful way to bring a story to life through creativity, curiosity and play!

Over the past couple of weeks, our tamariki have been learning about Matariki and the significance of Matariki the MΔori New Year.
As part of their learning, they created their own beautiful night skies, using paint and star-shaped cookie cutters to represent the many stars of the Matariki cluster. π
Through this creative experience, the children explored artistic expression while strengthening their understanding of Matariki as a time for remembrance, reflection, celebration, and looking ahead with hope for the future.

π Calling All Local Businesses and Community! π
Our tamariki have a huge interest in diggers and will be exploring the book Dusty the Digger next week.
We are looking for a local business or contractor who may be able to bring a digger into our carpark for a short visit so the children can observe it up close and learn more about how it works.
If you can help, or know someone who can, please send us a message. We'd love to hear from you!
Thank you for supporting our tamariki's learning. ππ

This week our tamariki have been buzzing with excitement as we explored the story Willbee the Bumblebee! ππ
Through a range of hands-on learning experiences, the children have been discovering all about bees and the important role they play in our world. We explored bee-inspired painting, weaving, sensory gloop play, honeycomb creations, and a variety of creative crafts.
These experiences encouraged creativity, fine motor development, sensory exploration, problem solving, and lots of meaningful conversations about nature and caring for our environment.
We love seeing our tamariki so engaged, curious, and excited to learn through play. πβ¨

Tonight our team stepped away from our usual routine and spent some quality time together enjoying a bit of team building. We rolled up our sleeves, made our own pasta from scratch, and of course sampled plenty along the way! π
It was such a fun, relaxed evening filled with laughter, great food, and even better company. Moments like these remind us how special our team really is π
A huge thank you to our incredible team for all of their hard work, dedication, and the care they show every single dayβwe appreciate you all so much!
