🚜 Calling All Local Businesses and Community! 🚜
Our tamariki have a huge interest in diggers and will be exploring the book Dusty the Digger next week.
We are looking for a local business or contractor who may be able to bring a digger into our carpark for a short visit so the children can observe it up close and learn more about how it works.
If you can help, or know someone who can, please send us a message. We'd love to hear from you!
Thank you for supporting our tamariki's learning. 💛🚜

This week our tamariki have been buzzing with excitement as we explored the story Willbee the Bumblebee! 🐝💛
Through a range of hands-on learning experiences, the children have been discovering all about bees and the important role they play in our world. We explored bee-inspired painting, weaving, sensory gloop play, honeycomb creations, and a variety of creative crafts.
These experiences encouraged creativity, fine motor development, sensory exploration, problem solving, and lots of meaningful conversations about nature and caring for our environment.
We love seeing our tamariki so engaged, curious, and excited to learn through play. 🐝✨

Tonight our team stepped away from our usual routine and spent some quality time together enjoying a bit of team building. We rolled up our sleeves, made our own pasta from scratch, and of course sampled plenty along the way! 🍝
It was such a fun, relaxed evening filled with laughter, great food, and even better company. Moments like these remind us how special our team really is 💛
A huge thank you to our incredible team for all of their hard work, dedication, and the care they show every single day—we appreciate you all so much!

A bittersweet moment for our Little Nest whānau 💛🐣
Today we said goodbye to our chickens as they headed off to their forever homes. While we’re feeling a little sad to see them go, we are so grateful for the incredible journey we’ve shared—watching them hatch, grow, and become part of our everyday learning.
The tamariki have shown so much care, curiosity, and excitement throughout this experience, building a real connection with our feathered friends. These moments have created lasting memories and meaningful learning that we will carry with us.
Farewell little chicks, thank you for being such a special part of our days 🐥💛

What an adventure we had at Adventure Alley! 🚌💛
The excitement started the moment we hopped on the bus, with lots of chatter, laughter, and curious little eyes taking in the journey. Once we arrived, the tamariki couldn’t wait to explore the indoor playground—climbing, sliding, and navigating their way through all the fun challenges.
One of the most special moments was seeing a sea of yellow as our Little Nest tamariki proudly wore their vests, making it easy to spot our group and creating a real sense of togetherness as we moved around the venue.
A day full of movement, confidence-building, and shared joy—what more could we ask for!

We’ve had so much fun over the school holidays here at Little Nest!
We believe the holidays aren’t just for our big siblings — our tamariki have been right in the middle of the action, enjoying a wide range of exciting experiences and learning opportunities.
From walking to our local park for a nature scavenger hunt, to getting our hands dirty on gardening day as we replenished our vege patches ready for winter — there has been something for everyone.
We’ve also enjoyed ball day, crazy hair day, and a cosy PJ/movie day where we explored more about the life cycle of a chick.
One of the highlights was definitely egg day… which very quickly turned into chick day! Watching the eggs hatch and seeing the chicks grow has been such a special and memorable experience for our children.
It’s been a holiday period full of laughter, discovery, and hands-on learning — just the way we like it at Little Nest 🐣💛

🐣 Our Living Eggs Have Started Hatching at Little Nest! 🐣
This week at Little Nest, our Living Eggs journey began. On Monday, we carefully set up our incubator and brooder, ready for the exciting arrival of our chicks.
On Tuesday, we were thrilled to see our very first chick hatch. Overnight, another five chicks made their way into the world, and then during the day on Wednesday, two more arrived.
The children have been so excited watching the chicks hatch and begin to grow. It has been such a special hands-on learning experience, giving them the opportunity to see the life cycle unfold right before their eyes.
We look forward to sharing more of this wonderful journey with you as our fluffy little chicks continue to grow. 💛🐥

This week our story of the week was The Very Hungry Caterpillar. To bring the story to life, we were so lucky to have real caterpillars for our tamariki to observe and explore.
The children showed so much curiosity and wonder as they watched the caterpillars make their chrysalis and transform into butterflies. It was such a special learning experience, full of excitement, questions, and discovery.
A big thank you to Franklin Farm Waimauku for generously gifting them to us for our tamariki to enjoy and learn from. 🐛🦋
We have limited availability, contact us today to come and see our space and meet our teachers. We hope to see you soon.
