The Eltham Dandenong Junior Basketball Tournament in Melbourne is one of the biggest junior basketball events in the world, and this year our players made their mark in a big way.
Leon Kelly captained the Falcons Under 16s Kaha team, with Kahn Barnett alongside him, and the pair helped lead their squad all the way to the C Grade grand final, finishing as runners‑up and earning silver medals.
Over in the Falcons Under 16s Mana team, Luke Francis De Guzman had a standout tournament, taking home MVP of his grade. His team, coached by Gabriel Angelo De Guzman, a proud Rutherford alumnus, went all the way and claimed C Grade gold.
Representing Aotearoa Basketball, Jakob McCourt also impressed, helping his team finish runners‑up in B Grade and bringing home silver.
A huge congratulations to all the players. 🏀🥇🥈
