Tongan Language Week 🇹🇴

This week we are celebrating and giving tamariki opportunities to explore Tongan language, colours, numbers, culture and traditions through fun, hands-on experiences.

Community Helpers Learning Journey Milestone Achieved ! 🙌🥳

🥔 Little Farmers: Our tamariki proudly became farmers as they harvested the potatoes and coriander they had grown themselves. This hands-on experience helped children understand where food comes from and the importance of nurturing nature. 🌱

💝 Showing Gratitude: Our tamariki proudly presented thank-you gifts and appreciation cards to our healthcare whānau, expressing kindness and gratitude for the important work they do in our community. 👩‍⚕️🧑‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

As we wrap up our Community Helpers Theme activities, we are so proud of the curiosity, kindness, teamwork, and confidence our tamariki have shown throughout these weeks.🥰☺

Maahi’s 4-year-old birthday! 🎂🎈

We had a very special celebration today as we celebrated Maahi’s 4th birthday! 🎂🎈
Tamariki enjoyed coming together to celebrate Maahi and share in her special day. Happy 4th birthday, Maahi!

Learning About Health Care and Healthy Choices

This week our tamariki were engaged with a series of activities related to our health care profession like doctors, dentists, vet and nurses.👩‍⚕️🧑‍⚕️👨‍⚕️ Children made the Thank you cards for our health care heroes as Fun N Play tradition.🥰☺

During mat time, our preschoolers enjoyed the story The Very Hungry Caterpillar 🐛🍎 and explored the difference between healthy and unhealthy foods, learning how healthy eating helps our bodies grow strong.

Meanwhile, our toddlers learned about foods that help keep their teeth healthy 🦷, building early understanding of good oral health habits.

Community Helper-Firefighters 👩‍🚒🧑‍🚒👨‍🚒

This week our tamariki experienced the role of firefighters through active play.
They learnt to cross obstacle courses, work together as a team to escape fire situation. This hands-on experience allowed our younger learners to better respond and understand how important courage and bravery, teamwork demonstrated in emergency scenarios. Our kaiako even stepped in as a pretend firefighter in the fire drill to save people, which brought the learning to life in a very exciting and interactive way.

For our toddlers, they were engaged by driving a fire truck 🚒 to rescue an emergency and sprayed “water” to put out small fire. 🔥Through this meaningful role play, children developed problem-solving skills and an understanding of why firefighters are critical community helpers to help keep us safe.👍🫶

🍕 Fun n Play Pizza Club– 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳
Where every slice is full of fun and learning! 😉
Today our kaiako transformed our learning space into a popular Pizza Shop, where our tamariki explored various roles like running a real catering business.😂
Here our little chef carefully prepared the ingredients and baked delicious pizzas for customer orders. Reception staff confidently took orders by calls, received payments on site, and served our customers with smiling faces. Our pizza delivery staff were busy too by riding scooters to deliver delicious pizzas around.🤝👏
This meaningful role play experience indeed encouraged, communication, teamwork and play-based learning which enabled the young learners to develop their social skills, practice early numeracy concepts and strengthen language development by peer interactions.🫶👍
