What an incredible launch for our Power of Music learning focus! Through music, we connect, communicate, express ourselves and create together - and InRhythm brought these big ideas to life by giving every child an energetic and joyful African drumming experience.

Nau mai haere mai, Welcome Drake and whānau!

It was such a pleasure to meet Drake and his whānau today for our whānau kōrero. Raised here in Tāmaki Makaurau with strong connections to Te Tai Tokerau, Drake is an energetic and helpful little boy with a super imagination. He loves riding his bike, scootering, Hot Wheels cars, and creative role-play.

We can't wait to see all the amazing things Drake will achieve and create as he begins his learning journey with us. Please join us in giving Drake and his whānau a warm Te Nikau welcome!

Shubho noboborsho or a warm Assalamu alaikum (শুভ সকাল / আসসালামু আলাইকুম) to Year 4 student Sheikh and his lovely family- mum Sadia and dad Sheikh! Arriving all the way from Bangladesh. High-school sweethearts Sheikh and Sadia have recently reunited in NZ, with Sadia and Jawad joining dad just last month. Jawad is an active, friendly, and observant boy who is a fast learner with a sharp eye for reading situations. When he isn't diving into maths problems, you can find him burning off energy running, biking, or kicking a soccer ball around. Welcome to Te Uho o te Nikau, Sheikh!

⚽🏆 Ōtara Boys Football Tournament ! 🏆⚽

What a fantastic effort from our boys at the Ōtara Boys Football Tournament! 💪🔥

Our senior boys team finished 3rd overall and, even more impressively, went undefeated throughout the tournament! 👏⚽

The boys played with heart, determination and excellent teamwork, showing our school values both on and off the field. They supported each other, respected their opponents and never gave up. 🙌

A huge well done to all our players for representing our kura with pride! ❤️💚

Proudly coached by Matua Ayman — what an awesome day for our tamariki! 👏⚽

Unbeaten. United. Proud. 🏆🔥

Toetoe Wharau tamariki had so much fun keeping the beat using different body percussion movements for Happy Birthday song using claps, fists, high fives, pancake hand flips, tap lap and elbow.

There were lots of smiles, laughter and teamwork as we listened carefully, followed the rhythm and worked together to create our own musical celebration.

Kākano Rua continue our Music Launch!
Kākano Rua introduced body percussion, using different movements and sounds from our bodies to create the sounds of rain. Apologies in advance, we didn’t manage to capture a video of Tipu in action, but they were absolutely fantastic! A little snippet of Mahuri and Kākano Tahi.
