This morning Homai School hosted the Combined Maths League Competition organised by the University of Auckland. We had year 5 & 6 students competing from Homai, Weymouth Primary and Māngere Central School!

A huge congratulations to one of our Year 5 teams - Sione, Furious, Kyna and Aarul for placing FIRST OVERALL for all Year 5 teams 🏆🥇Congratulations boys and well done to all of our participants. We look forward to the next event in Term 4!

Kua mutu rā ngā mahi mō tēnei noho o Te Moana Nui a Kiwa ki Te Kumi Pa Marae ❤️

What an awesome few days together - full of learning, whanaungatanga, laughter, kapa haka, hākinakina and special memories for our tamariki.

A huge ngā mihi to our tamariki for representing Te Moana Nui a Kiwa with pride, and to our kaiako and support staff for all the mahi behind the scenes.

A very special thank you to our amazing cooks who kept us all well fed throughout the noho - we appreciate all the time, effort and aroha that went into every meal. 💙

And to our whānau who joined us for dinner, thank you for coming along, sharing the evening with us and being part of our noho. It was so special having you there.

We are so proud of our tamariki and the way they looked after one another and embraced every part of the experience.

Ākuanei, ākuanei, ka tūtaki anō. 💙

LOCKDOWN DRILL COMPLETE

A huge thank you to our Homai whānau for your patience and understanding while we completed our lockdown drill today.

This drill was intentionally carried out during break time, giving our tamariki the opportunity to practise what to do if an emergency occurs while they are outside of their classrooms.

We are proud of how well our students responded and followed instructions. 💛

These drills are an important part of keeping everyone at Homai safe, calm and prepared.

Thank you for your continued support, Homai whānau! 🙌🏽
