Our centre in Rosedale, North Shore Auckland is looking for a School Hours Teacher to join our friendly and stable team in our mixed-age 2–5 years room. Hours: 9:00am – 3:00pm, Monday to Friday(negotiable for the right person)!

Our tamariki have been exploring Māori legends recently and have shown great enthusiasm for learning about the stories, characters, and cultural values they share.

At the moment, we are focusing on the book In the Beginning and getting to know the different characters through playful, hands-on learning experiences.

It has been wonderful to see the children engaging with these important stories in such meaningful and enjoyable ways. We look forward to continuing our journey of discovering the rich world of Māori legends together.

Over the past few days, our centre has been filled with colour, joy and celebration as we welcomed Chinese New Year (Chun Jie)/ Seollal / Tết.

Chinese New Year originated more than 3,000 years ago. It is based on the Chinese lunisolar (farming) calendar and was originally a time to pray for a good harvest and the end of the cold winter. It also marked the start of a new planting season. Moving beyond its history, Chinese New Year is now celebrated by many different cultures around the world in unique ways, such as Seollal in Korea and Tết in Vietnam. Although the traditions may be different, all New Year celebrations focus on family reunions and honoring ancestors.

This year is Year Of The Horse, it’s considered a good and energetic year, with speed and success! May you run freely and achieve great things this year! 🧧✨
