We had a wonderful and successful museum trip today! Everything was calm and peaceful, and the children really enjoyed exploring the museum and their surroundings. Many of them even fell asleep on the bus ride back!

It’s a pity that some children were unable to join us this time because they were unwell. We hope to have another exciting excursion in the summer🌸

Baking experiences like this provide many valuable learning opportunities in early childhood. As the children measured, poured, mixed, and took turns, they were developing early maths skills, fine motor coordination, and problem-solving abilities! Today, we have created positive memories around food, teamwork, and celebrating special occasions together!

✨ Matariki 2026 at Kindy Cottage ✨

Tonight our Kindy whānau came together to celebrate Matariki, the Māori New Year.

Matariki is a special time to remember those who have passed (maumaharatia rātou kua whetūrangitia), celebrate the present, and look forward with hope (kia manawanui ki ngā rā e tū mai nei). It reminds us to slow down, reflect, and cherish what truly matters—our whānau, our friendships, and the kai we share together.

Under the beautiful winter lights, our tamariki laughed, played, created, and shared special moments with their families. There was warmth, conversation, delicious kai, and a wonderful sense of belonging.

Winter doesn't mean staying indoors! ❄️☀️

We had so much fun enjoying our outdoor sports programme this winter. With warm clothes and fresh air, the children had plenty of opportunities to run, play, and stay active under the sunshine. Outdoor play in winter helps build strong bodies, happy minds, and wonderful memories. 💙🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
