Did you know that along with being a great social activity, playing Bridge can significantly improve memory, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Why not take this opportunity to learn how to play Bridge in a relaxed and friendly environment at Highbury House.

We are delighted to welcome Douglas here to teach a short two lesson Bridge Taster course and a further ten week course for those who want to master their Bridge skills. Douglas has been playing Bridge at a competitive level for over 50 years and has represented NZ internationally. He has been teaching for over 15 years so you will definitely be in good hands!

Following these courses, we hope to host weekly social Bridge sessions where you can come and test your skills against others in the community.

Are you aged 14 to 17 and would like to do some babysitting, take on a coaching role or be an afterschool carer?

We are collaborating with Plunket to bring you this exciting Working with Kids workshop which takes place during the next school holidays on July 15th.

Attendees will learn a variety of skills that including behaviour management, first aid, leadership and how to step into paid work.

After completing the course, you will get a certificate which will be a great addition to any CV.

The cost of the course is $55 per person. Spaces are limited.

The Kaipātiki Youth Board are putting on this exciting movie night to celebrate Youth Week.
This free community event will take place at Birkenhead College on Saturday May 23rd from 5.30pm to 8pm and is open to young people and whānau in the community.

We had our first Poetry Lovers of Highbury House session last night. Thanks to those who came along.
