Takanini School Takaanini School is a co-educational school catering for Year 1 - 8 students. We have two new adventure playgrounds.

Takanini is a co-educational school currently catering for 450 plus children in their first eight years of schooling. The school has a growing roll so an enrolment zone is in place to prevent overcrowding. We have a commitment to providing quality programmes of learning and strive to ensure the physical facilities and resources are of a high standard. Since 2002 a building programme has been in pl

ace and is still ongoing In 2014 a new eight classroom block was completed which includes a technology suite. We want the best learning environment for our children. Parental support and co-operation are important in achieving the best learning opportunities for our children. We encourage parental involvement and open communication between home and school. The education of our children is most effective when it is a partnership.

As mentioned in our newsletter last week, a reminder that this Friday 28 August is Daffodil Day. Students are welcome to dress with something yellow on this day. Gold coin donations are appreciated if possible. All funds raised will go to the Cancer Society.

The day started very early for Takanini School today! At 6am huge house moving trucks brought our two new classrooms. Now the work begins to build decking around them and connect them to all the utilities. The children of Rooms 25 and the Atrium are looking forward to being able to move into larger classrooms sometime in future weeks.

Over the past week, our students have been learning about the ANZACs and the importance of remembrance. They have explored stories of courage, sacrifice, service, and the values that continue to shape us today.

Some of our students proudly shared the Ode of Remembrance, showing respect for those who served and those who never returned.
