🌺Kia Orana! Cook Islands Language Week Concert🌺

What a special celebration we shared together as we marked Cook Islands Language Week.

Throughout the week, our tamariki explored Cook Islands language, music, dance, stories, and traditions, culminating in this wonderful concert performance. Children demonstrated confidence, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of belonging as they sang, moved, and celebrated alongside their friends.

At The Learning Castle, we take immense pride in seeing our tamariki lead many of the formalities of our special events. From welcoming guests and introducing performances to speaking in front of an audience, these opportunities help children develop confidence, communication skills, leadership, and independence. These are important foundations that support their readiness for school and beyond, empowering them to express their ideas, collaborate with others, and feel confident in new situations.

A heartfelt thank you to Nana Timena (Bronsyn's Grandma) for generously sharing her time, knowledge, and passion throughout the week. Your guidance helped bring Cook Islands culture to life for our children and created meaningful opportunities for learning and connection. We are deeply grateful for your contribution to our learning community.

🌺🇨🇰 Kia Orana! Celebrating Cook Islands Language Week at The Learning Castle 🇨🇰🌺

What a wonderful week of exploration, connection, and cultural celebration! Our tamariki immersed themselves in the language, stories, music, dance, art, and traditions of the Cook Islands, creating opportunities to learn alongside one another, express their ideas, and build meaningful relationships.

Throughout the week, children engaged in experiences that supported communication, creativity, problem-solving, early literacy and numeracy thinking, and an appreciation for the diverse cultures that make up our community. Most importantly, they experienced the joy of learning through play, discovery, and shared participation.

At The Learning Castle, we believe every child's language, culture, and identity are treasures. Celebrations like Cook Islands Language Week help children develop a strong sense of belonging while growing the confidence and skills they need to thrive.

🌟 School Visit Adventure! 🌟

Our tamariki had a wonderful time visiting Papatoetoe Central School as part of our Transition to School Programme! 🎒📚

The children enjoyed exploring the school environment, visiting classrooms, meeting teachers, and experiencing what a day at school looks like. These visits help build confidence, independence, and excitement as our older children prepare for the next stage of their learning journey.

It was heartwarming to see the children eagerly participating, asking questions, and imagining themselves as school students. Experiences like these support a smooth and positive transition from early childhood education to primary school.

A big thank you to the staff and students at Papatoetoe Central School for making us feel so welcome. We look forward to continuing this valuable partnership and supporting our tamariki as they take their next big step! 💙

Holi at The Learning Castle was full of colour, laughter, and hands‑on fun. Children spent time painting, mixing colours, getting messy, and enjoying the experience together with plenty of curiosity and creativity along the way.

Through simple play, there were little moments of discovery too: noticing colours change, counting and sharing materials, and chatting about what was happening around them. Learning flowed naturally, just as it should.

Learning at The Learning Castle is joyful, meaningful, and rooted in real experiences that children love everyday.
