Congrats to our Rugby teams who played at the NH Champs last week. Our U45kg team took out the title 🥇 and will go on to represent North Harbour at the Aucklad Champs later in the term.

Congrats to our 3 teams that represented NX at the Girls NH Football Champs. A great day of Football and 2 podium finishes!

Last week we were delighted to take two teams to the Auckland Literacy Association’s Litex Competition at Diocesan School for Girls in Epsom. There were 37 teams involved from across Auckland and although we didn’t take the top spot this year, one of our teams was not far behind on a very impressive 96%. Students needed to show a wide variety of skills in English and it was a very tight race. We are immensely proud of all our students who participated, well done! 📖

Last week a large group of learners from across our school attended the Auckland Writers Festival at the Aotea Centre. The day included addresses and workshops from literary figures- David A. Robertson, Kenneth Chapman, Claire Mabey, Dr Hinemoa Elder, Graci Kim and Zak Waipara. Our budding writers were inspired and are excited to implement their new learning in the coming months!

In the last week of term, we had 5 teams represent Northcross at the NH Futsal Champs . We had some amazing results, with all 5 of our teams making the podium!

This year was the 20th and final Lest We Forget ANZAC Poetry Competition, held at the Auckland War Memorial Museum. The theme was ‘Pathways Forward’ and Northcross Intermediate was commended for all the winners we have had over the many years the competition has been running. Congratulations to Grace and Milly, who had the honour of reading their winning poems in the Auditorium in a special ceremony on ANZAC day.
