Father’s Day Celebration at Seeds

What a wonderful morning we had celebrating the special dads in our Seeds whānau!

We were delighted to welcome our tamariki’s dads for a special Father’s Day breakfast and morning tea. It was such a beautiful atmosphere filled with smiles, laughter, connection, and plenty of proud moments.

Our tamariki were absolutely wonderful hosts — taking great care of their dads, sharing kai, and making them feel truly loved and special. It was heartwarming to see the beautiful bonds between our tamariki and their dads shine throughout the morning. 🥰

A huge thank you to all the dads who were able to join us. We are so grateful you took the time to celebrate with us and share such a special morning with your tamariki.

And to all the amazing dads who were busy or unable to join us on the day, we hope you had a wonderful Father’s Day on Sunday. 💙 You are appreciated and celebrated too!

Today we wrapped up our Cook Islands Language Week with a very special visit from one of our wonderful nanas, who generously shared some delicious Cook Islands treats, beautiful dancing, and heartfelt waiata with our tamariki. It was a truly memorable way to celebrate and bring our week of learning to a close.

Throughout the week, our tamariki have enjoyed a variety of meaningful learning experiences that celebrated the rich culture, language, traditions, and values of the Cook Islands. They explored through art, music, dance, storytelling, sensory play, and hands-on activities, embracing the beauty of Cook Islands heritage with curiosity and enthusiasm.

Here are some photos showcasing the wonderful experiences and moments our tamariki were involved in during the week. We are so proud of their excitement, participation, and willingness to learn about another culture.

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing nana for taking the time to share her knowledge, talents, and culture with us. Your kindness and generosity made this week even more special, and we are truly grateful.

We hope you all have a fantastic weekend! We look forward to seeing everyone again on Monday as we continue exploring and extending the interests, ideas, and curiosities of our tamariki.

With your food basket and my food basket, the people will thrive.

This week at Seeds, our tamariki enjoyed a wide variety of engaging learning experiences that supported their development across all areas. They embraced imaginative role play, transforming their play spaces into offices and working together to explore different roles and responsibilities. Construction activities encouraged creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork, while our outdoor adventures challenged tamariki to build confidence, resilience, and physical skills as they took on new movement experiences.

Our 4-year-olds also participated in a range of learning experiences designed to strengthen their cognitive development and support their transition to school. Through purposeful activities, they practised early literacy and numeracy concepts, critical thinking, communication, and independence in a fun and meaningful way.

Overall, it has been a fantastic week filled with laughter, curiosity, exploration, and rich learning opportunities. It has been wonderful to see our tamariki growing in confidence as they learn through play, challenge themselves, and build positive relationships with one another.

Mānawatia a Matariki
Matariki is a treasured time of reflection, remembrance, gratitude, and new beginnings. It offers our tamariki a wonderful opportunity to learn about the rich traditions and values of te ao Māori, strengthening their sense of identity, belonging, and connection to one another, their whānau, and the world around them. Through shared stories, songs, creativity, and celebration, children learn the importance of honouring the past, celebrating the present, and looking forward with hope.

To all of our wonderful whānau who joined us to celebrate Matariki, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Sharing this special occasion with you made it even more meaningful, and we are so grateful for the time, warmth, and joy you brought to our celebration. To those who were unable to be with us, you were missed, and we look forward to the opportunity to celebrate alongside you in the future. Thank you for your ongoing love, support, and partnership as we nurture and grow our tamariki together.

We’ve had a wonderful week here at , filled with engaging and fun learning experiences for our tamariki. With the weather bringing a mix of conditions, much of our time was spent indoors, where the children continued to thrive in a warm and stimulating environment.

They showed great enthusiasm as they explored a variety of activities, learning alongside one another and building strong connections through shared experiences. It has been lovely to see their curiosity, creativity, and cooperation shine throughout the week.
