Our Wonderfull Tongan Experience.
This morning we were very fortunate to have Na’a’s Mum, Pasepa come in and share some Tongan language and songs with us.
The children learnt how to sing 1-5 in Tongan(Taya,Ua,Tolu,Fa and Nima) and also learnt some actions while singing the song.
The children and Teachers loved this experience and we thank Pasepa and Na’a very much.

Pre-School Adventure…
What a perfect autumn afternoon to go for a walk around our neighbourhood. On the way we discovered an obstacle walk way of stepping blocks and balancing beams. We also found a new playground which some of our children visit daily. One of the highlights was stopping at Onepoto school gates, where we spotted some of our old friends. The children were delighted when they came and said hello. We enjoyed afternoon tea under a shady tree and made our way back to Pre-School and some of the children pointed out their homes on the way.

Summer Fun at Northcote Pre- School

The children laughed and squealed as they splashed and jumped and chased each other around with the water squirters.
With the temperatures soaring what better way to keep cool.

Northcote Pre-school Community Trust is open and taking new enrolments for 2023.

We are a small community based centre which naturally gives out a warm and friendly vibe.

Our Staff consist of both qualified and experienced teachers, who are committed and passionate. Some of our teachers have been at the Centre for 10 plus years .

We have been in the area for a very long time and are well known to the community around us, particularly for our multi-cultural demographic.

We are offering a mixture of AM/PM and all day sessions at very affordable rates.

The children have been busy tending to our strawberry patch. Watering, laying natural slug bait(orange peels wrapped in wet newspaper) daily. They have watched and waited each day for the strawberries to ripen. Today the children were rewarded for their patience and hard work as they excitedly found some big, red juicy looking strawberries ready to be picked and eaten.

When the bark and sand got delivered to Pre-School this morning, the mahi from our Tamariki was tremendous. They were having so much fun that we decided to stay outside longer than normal.

Spring must be in the air at Northcote Preschool.
The children have been watering the Preschool garden , getting busy spring cleaning the playground , making ‘Father’s Day ’ cards, and generally enjoying nature in our nearby parks.

Daffodil Day 26/09/22
In support of Daffodil Day we asked everyone to wear the colour yellow.
We had yellow displayed everywhere with the room decorated with yellow balloons, yellow play-dough, yellow water play, yellow construction trucks, yellow duplo.
Our art activity included the painting of real Daffodils that were displayed on the table.
Some of the children constructed their interpretation of Daffodils with a variety of collage materials. We called these ‘deconstructed Daffodils’.
What a fun day we had despite the Weather!

An Easter Fun day!
After making our baskets and Bunny ears, we were able to search for our golden eggs.
The Bunnies were super quick to locate all the eggs .
