🚌✨ Highlight of the Week – The Wheels on the Bus! ✨🚌
As we reflect on another wonderful week at Clendon Kids, one of our highlights was witnessing the incredible creativity and imagination of our tamariki. 💛
Using chairs, foam piece, and block resources, the children worked together to create their very own bus. The excitement was contagious as they sang "The Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round" while bringing their creation to life. 🎶🚌
Our creative bus driver thoughtfully constructed "gears" using block pieces, while other tamariki eagerly joined the adventure as passengers. We had aunties, doctors, and many other special community members travelling on our bus! Through this imaginative experience, children demonstrated teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and storytelling skills while having lots of fun together.
It was truly heartwarming to see our tamariki extending their ideas, collaborating with one another, and transforming simple resources into a meaningful and engaging play experience.
As we head into the long weekend, we would like to wish all our Clendon Kids kaiako, tamariki, and whānau a blessed, safe, and joyful break. Thank you for being such an important part of our learning community. We look forward to creating many more special memories together when we return.

Kia Ora Kōtuku Whānau
Today, Kōtuku Kids had lots of fun exploring art and creativity through a bus collage and painting activity. The children were given yellow paper and glue to create a collage on the bus template. They carefully stuck the paper pieces onto the bus and showed great focus and enthusiasm during the activity.
Later, the children decided they wanted to paint the bus yellow as well, so we provided yellow paint. Tamariki enjoyed using paintbrushes to add colour to their artwork. They were excited to talk about the colour of the bus and proudly shared their creations with their teachers and friends.
Ka Pai tamariki ma. Keep up the amazing mahi 🤩

✨ Conversations, Creativity, and Learning with our Big Kids ✨
Today we spent some special time with our big kids, beginning with meaningful one-on-one conversations. It was wonderful to hear the children confidently sharing their own stories and experiences about travelling on aeroplanes and visiting places such as Samoa, Australia, and Wellington. The tamariki were so excited to talk about their journeys, family experiences, and places they have explored.
These conversations created rich opportunities for language development, confidence building, and strengthening relationships as children expressed their thoughts and listened to one another.
Following our discussions, the children participated in colouring activities focused on our classroom values and morals, including teamwork, helping hands, kindness, and sharing. Through these experiences, our tamariki explored the importance of caring for others, working together, and creating a positive learning environment for everyone. 🤝✨
It was beautiful to see the children engaged, thoughtful, and proud of their work.
Kapai Big Kids!
