It's Children's Book Week! Let's talk about books and belonging...

Stories help children discover who they are and where they belong. Through characters like Gerald the giraffe, tamariki learn that everyone has their own rhythm — and that belonging comes from being accepted for who you are.

This is Ayu one of our Tiny Nation educators. Ayu has special gift with children, my care kids and i love spending time with her. (They literally can’t get enough of her….Ayu Ayu Ayu ❤️

One of our fabulous Auckland-based educators, Ayu Romero, has recently been profiled in a New Zealand Infant & Toddler Consortium (NZITC) article. She has written a piece titled: Where care meets the heart – coming home to educaring.

In the article, Ayu shares her heartfelt journey from centre-based care to opening her own home to children and whānau in partnership with Tiny Nation. With honesty and warmth, she reflects on vulnerability, authentic relationships, and what happens when respect becomes more than a philosophy - it becomes a way of living.

"The impact of this alignment feels like a quiet revolution of aroha. For children, a consistent, predictable environment fosters a strong sense of belonging and safety. They are remarkably settled, confident, and free. For the parents, the transformation is equally profound; anxiety gradually gives way to peace. They feel deeply seen, validated, and no longer alone on their parenting journey."

We think you’ll love this beautiful read just as much as we did!🫶
