Biggles Childcare

At Biggles Childcare Centre "Preschool", we offer a rich variety of experiences that help children transition smoothly into school life. Through regular excursions, our tamariki become familiar with their local community, visiting places like schools, parks, libraries, supermarkets, fire stations, police stations, veterinary clinics, and hospitals.

We work in close partnership with families to prepare children for school, with a strong emphasis on early literacy and numeracy.

Most of our preschoolers learn to recognise letters through phonics and explore numeracy through fun, hands-on games that build understanding of patterns, quantity, order, and combining.

At Biggles Childcare, we also follow the Kōwhiti Whakapae framework to support our tamariki in developing oral language, literacy, and mathematical skills, ensuring they’re confident and well-equipped for a successful start to primary school.

Once upon a time, in the heart of Biggles Childcare Centre, Bear House, a magical chapter began.

Over the past few months, our tamariki transformed into storybook heroes, princesses, pirates, animals, and adventurers, leaping from the pages of their favourite tales into worlds of imagination and wonder.

Each day brought a new journey. Castles were built, dragons tamed, forests explored, and friendships forged. The children didn’t just read stories, they lived them. Their laughter echoed through enchanted lands, and their curiosity led them to places even we hadn’t imagined.

Behind the scenes, our devoted teachers became the storytellers and stagehands, researching, planning, and crafting experiences that nurtured every spark of interest. They followed the children’s lead, adapting and creating with heart and care, ensuring every adventure was rich with learning and joy. And, as with every great tale, this one was made possible by a loving cast of supporters.

To the families who stood proudly behind the curtain, and the teachers who brought each scene to life with heart and dedication, thank you. Because of you, everyday moments blossomed into unforgettable adventures!
