Our tamariki love exploring the sandpit, where every scoop of sand becomes part of a new adventure! 🏖️🪣💛
Today, the sandpit became a busy little kitchen and bakery — baking delicious imaginary treats, cooking up wonderful ideas, mixing, scooping, pouring, sharing and serving their creations to friends. 🧁🥣🍰👩‍🍳👨‍🍳
Through this simple, joyful play, our tamariki are developing so much more than imagination. They are building language, creativity, cooperation, problem-solving, fine-motor skills, confidence and social connections — all while having fun and learning through play. 🌱💫

Today our tamariki had a wonderful time baking delicious eggless banana muffins with the caring support of our amazing kaiako! 🍌🧁
Through this fun hands-on experience, they explored early maths by counting and measuring ingredients, developed fine motor skills while mixing and pouring, practiced teamwork, and built confidence by following each step of the recipe. Learning becomes even more meaningful when little hands are busy creating!
At our centre, we provide a warm, gentle, and nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to learn through play, discovery, and meaningful experiences. Our dedicated kaiako support each child's unique journey with kindness, patience, and aroha.

Today at PLC we celebrated Pyjama Day, and what a wonderful day it was! 💤💛
Our tamariki arrived excited in their favourite pyjamas, filling the day with smiles, laughter, and joyful learning. They were fully engaged in yoga, baking delicious scones, designing their own pyjamas, cutting and creating, playing guessing and ring games, and enjoying storytelling alongside our caring kaiako.
Throughout the day, our tamariki demonstrated so many important learning dispositions, including curiosity, creativity, confidence, perseverance, communication, cooperation, and independence. It was beautiful to see them exploring, problem-solving, sharing ideas, and supporting one another in a fun and nurturing environment.
We love creating meaningful experiences where learning happens through play, connection, and joy. 🌟

Our tamariki had a fantastic time exploring different musical instruments, including drums, bells, tambourines, and xylophones. As they sang, danced, and created a variety of sounds, they developed important skills such as taking turns, listening to others, and appreciating music with the guidance and support of our caring kaiako. Through this joyful experience, they demonstrated curiosity, confidence, creativity, cooperation, and perseverance while expressing themselves and building positive relationships with their peers. ✨ Matariki Celebration at PLC ✨
What a special and memorable day at PLC as our whānau came together to celebrate Matariki with family and friends. Our centre was filled with the beautiful sounds of Māori music as our tamariki proudly performed waiata and haka, sharing their confidence, joy, and sense of belonging.
Dressed in their star-themed headpieces and skirts decorated with their own unique patterns and designs, our tamariki expressed their creativity while honoring the significance of Matariki. They also enjoyed weaving with natural leaves, face painting, and exploring hands-on cultural experiences that helped deepen their understanding and appreciation of Māori traditions.
Sharing kai together reminded us of the importance of whānau, manaakitanga (kindness and caring), and coming together as a community. Just as many families across Aotearoa celebrate Matariki by reflecting on the past, celebrating the present, and looking forward to the future, our tamariki experienced these values through connection, respect, gratitude, and togetherness.
At PLC, we are proud to nurture children's cultural identity, confidence, and curiosity while embracing the rich heritage of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Our tamariki had so much fun playing Animal Sound Bingo! 🐮🐑🐘 With kaiako support, they listened carefully, identified different animal sounds, and matched them with confidence.
Through play, tamariki developed their listening skills, concentration, confidence, and perseverance while enjoying lots of laughter together. 💛
We love seeing learning come alive through fun experiences!
