Little Hands, Big Colours: Holi Celebration 2026
This week our tamariki stepped into a world of colour as we celebrated Holi, the vibrant festival that marks the arrival of spring and the triumph of light, love, and renewal. Dressed in white and armed with big smiles, our children embraced the joy of colour play, splashing, tossing, and swirling bright powders across the playground.
But behind all the fun, Holi offered something deeper.
Learning Through Celebration
Holi is a beautiful opportunity for tamariki to explore:
• Cultural diversity, understanding that people around the world celebrate in different, joyful ways
• Sensory play, colour, texture, movement, and creativity all wrapped into one
• Social connection, working together, sharing space, and celebrating as a community
• Emotional expression, the freedom to be messy, playful, and expressive in a safe environment
These experiences strengthen children’s sense of belonging and help them grow into confident, curious learners who appreciate the richness of the world around them.
Why We Celebrate Festivals at Our Centre
Celebrations like Holi are part of how we nurture a warm, inclusive learning environment. They help children:
• See themselves and others reflected in the curriculum
• Build empathy and cultural awareness
• Experience hands-on learning that is joyful and meaningful
It’s also a chance for whānau to see our values in action - connection, curiosity, community, and care.
A Place Where Learning Feels Like Joy
Moments like these are what make our centre special. We’re proud to offer a space where tamariki can learn through play, explore big ideas in child-friendly ways, and feel deeply connected to the people around them.
If you’re looking for an early learning environment that blends quality education, warm relationships, and rich cultural experiences, we’d love to welcome you for a visit. Come see what learning looks like when it’s filled with colour.
