On Tuesday, our Health students hosted a fantastic Health Expo for visiting Avondale Intermediate students, focused on building awareness and skills for managing mental health 💙

The event featured interactive activity stations, including creative art and sensory experiences, plus a fun (and challenging!) obstacle course where students navigated blindfolded using only their friends’ guidance — highlighting the power of communication and trust.

This year we acknowledge Ms Fraser for her 20 years' service to Avondale College.

Two decades on, Ms Fraser continues to inspire students with her belief in the power of history to help us understand the world. While much has changed over the years, she says Avcol's HEART values remain as strong as ever. “The students and staff make it such a rewarding place to be—you feel you can genuinely make a difference here!"

Thank you for your dedicated service!

Our Spoken Word Poetry Club may have only formed this year, but they’ve already competed at the "WORD – The Front Line" Poetry Competition and placed in the semi-finals!

They entered three pieces: one performed by our brave ESOL students, a powerful group piece written and choreographed by Sheneth Fernando (Year 11), and a solo by Harper Spurway (Year 10) after which one judge commented: “should have been performed in front of Parliament.”

This Club is just getting started—we can’t wait to see what’s next!

Avondale College is excited to acknowledge a new sports sponsorship!

Thank you, Eric Buisman and for your generous funding, which will help reduce barriers to participation and create more opportunities for our students to get involved in sport.

We are looking forward to seeing the positive impact this new partnership with a local business will have on our students.
