GyroPad GyroPad encourages active participation and understanding of the recycling process amongst the next generation for the sustainability of our environment.

Primary school children are often taught of the importance of recycling; however, they lack understanding of the explicit process of recycling, which the national curriculum usually does not teach. The problem we have identified is that people do not engage actively in the process of recycling. Usually they throw their recyclable materials into a recycling bin through which they anonymously and pa

ssively support the recycling process but do not understand the real measurable impact that they create. The enigmatic nature of recycling to people can deter them from recycling. Teaching people at a young age, such as primary school students, to know how to recycle for themselves can induce them to gestate new, creative uses of waste paper and divert children’s attention to environmental issues so they can actively participate in making our environment better. Our opportunity is that high school students waste a prodigious amount of paper by not finishing their notebooks and throwing out unused pages. By collecting these partially used books, we can encourage primary students to personally engage in recycling and provide them with the skills to enhance our environment.
