We provide quality childcare for children aged 3 months up to 5 years of age in a beautiful and spacious centre.

Early Explorers Childcare Centre is a spacious centre located in Avondale with a warm homely feel. We believe children will thrive in our centre and our large natural outdoor has a wonderful 'backyard feel' with plenty of space to run around, to explore and discover the wonders of nature.

- Providing full time, part time and sessional care for 3 months - 5 years of age.
- 20 hours ECE subsidy

is available for 3 & 4 year olds as well as kindy-type sessions.
- We support preschool children in their readiness and transition to school.
- Meals included.

We love setting the scene… but we love even more seeing what the children do with it!

Our teachers thoughtfully create experiences and invitations to play that spark curiosity, wonder and imagination.

And then we step back and watch the magic unfold.

The excitement in their faces, the questions they ask, the ideas they come up with, and the unexpected ways they explore — this is what makes it all worthwhile.

We love taking the time to create thoughtful, open-ended invitations to play that capture children’s curiosity and leave space for their own ideas to unfold.

With blocks, tracks and bridges at different levels, this setup offers so many possibilities for children to test balance and stability as they drive their little vehicles over the suspended tracks and then become little engineers constructing their own bridges.

Look at these incredible huts our little builders have created!

With plenty of blocks, large arches, carpet squares, and other open-ended resources to choose from, the children have let their imaginations run wild—building huts big enough to climb inside!

There has been lots of planning, teamwork, problem-solving, and, most importantly, fun along the way. We love seeing their creativity come to life!

Our children had a wonderful time harvesting our yacon recently with every plant revealing hidden treasures beneath the soil.

The children loved investigating all the different parts of the plant, discovering the knobbly rhizomes and the different shapes and sizes of the tubers. They worked together to give the freshly harvested yacon a good wash, preparing it to be enjoyed in our delicious centre meals.

These hands-on experiences help our children connect with nature, develop an understanding of where food comes from, and take pride in contributing to our garden-to-table journey.

Our last post showcased the magic of our Glow Room, where the children’s artwork was illuminated and truly came to life. This time, we’re sharing some special behind-the-scenes moments of our young artists in action as they created those amazing pieces.

From painting, to threading needles and sewing, to working together and expressing their ideas- every artwork tells a story of learning, creativity, and fun!

✨Matariki Family Evening Glow Magic 🌟

Our tamariki amazed us with the stunning artwork they created for our Matariki Family Evening. Using vibrant neon paints 🎨 each masterpiece came to life in our glow room, creating a truly magical experience. 💙💚💜

We are so proud of the creativity, imagination, and effort our tamariki put into every piece. Thank you to all the families who joined us to celebrate this special occasion. It was a night filled with connection, and a little bit of fairy light and glow-in-the-dark magic! 🌌⭐

Revisiting the familiar story of The Three Little Pigs using story stones and open ended materials 🐷 🏠

With great care and concentration, houses for the pigs were constructed selecting and positioning materials. Will the wolf be able to blow the houses of these little engineers down? 💨 🐺

Recently our tamariki have been busy drawing and painting self-portraits while observing themselves in a mirror. This experience encouraged them to slow down, look closely at their own features, and think about what makes them unique.

It provides an opportunity for them to celebrate who they are and develop a sense of identity.

The finished portraits are as individual and special as the artists themselves, and we are so proud of the effort, concentration, and creativity shown throughout the process.
