🌱 From soil to plate 🍉🥬

Our children are learning where food comes from by sowing watermelon, harvesting fresh spinach, tomatoes and enjoying meals made from what they grow.

Hands-on learning that builds healthy habits, confidence, and happy smiles 💚

This is Children's day at Kaha Kids Childcare Centre.
Nature at its most magical - our peacock, Peter put on a full display today, and the children were in awe.
Here at Kaha Kids, learning happens in the moment - surrounded by fresh air, open space, and the wonders of the natural world.

Located in Waimauku, we welcome tamariki into a calm, nurturing environment where they can grow, explore, and thrive.

We were super lucky to have officer Jen visit us today! She shared how police officers work to keep everyone safe in our community. We learned lots of cool safety tips, like:
- sitting in the right car seat if your age,
- always wearing helmet when biking,
-Being careful around roads,
- remembering to call 111 if we ever need the police, fire, or an ambulance.

We also found out that the police can use different vehicles to get to us, like a tractor, Quad bike, or even a boat!
And guess what? We got to sit in a police car, use the loudspeaker, check out the lights and siren.

We are excited to share that our recent trip to the Sunflower Fields and Butterfly Garden was an incredible success, and the children had an absolutely magical day!
We began our morning with a warm welcome at the beautiful Sunflower Fields. After a relaxing tea break with sandwiches and carrot cake, we explored the vast fields, taking plenty of photos with the vibrant sunflowers. The special photo setups added a fun touch, and the children loved posing in front of the stunning blooms. We also got to feed the goats.
Next, we walked over to the Butterfly House, where we gathered in a shady area to participate in a breathtaking experience: releasing butterflies! The children's faces lit up with wonder as the butterflies fluttered around them—it was truly a sight to behold.
Inside the Butterfly House, the children had the chance to learn about the fascinating life cycle of butterflies. They were fascinated by the hundreds of caterpillars and chrysalises they saw. It was both educational and awe-inspiring, and we made sure to capture many wonderful moments with photos.
