What a wonderful day out! Our Toddlers and Preschool children had the best time exploring the zoo, seeing lots of amazing animals and making special memories together.

A HUGE Thank You to Pet Patch!

We would like to say a massive thank you to our wonderful local pet shop, Pet Patch, and especially Ruby, for coming along to the centre and giving our fish tank a full renovation!

Our tamariki are so lucky to now have some beautiful new fish, accessories, stones and equipment to enjoy and learn from.

We would love to encourage our whānau to support local and pop into Pet Patch for all your pet needs. By supporting our local businesses, we help strengthen our community and keep our wonderful local services thriving. ❤️

⚖️ Balance & Cognition 🌱🧩

Our babies in the Kowhai room at junior junction St Jude, have been busy developing their balance, coordination and cognitive skills through play! From practising balance and movement both indoors and outdoors, to working together on puzzles, our little learners are building body awareness, problem-solving skills and concentration.

Every play experience is an opportunity to move, think, explore and learn together! 💕🧩🌿

Celebrating Cook Islands Language Week gave our toddlers a wonderful opportunity to explore culture through hands-on play and meaningful experiences. Dressing in leis, discovering natural resources like coconuts and palm leaves, engaging with sea creatures in sand play, and moving to the joyful rhythms of island music supported their curiosity, creativity, and sense of belonging. These experiences helped foster an appreciation for cultural diversity while learning through play. Ka pai, tamariki!
St Jude

Our Totara room tamariki at JJ St.Jude had a wonderful time exploring a colourful rain cloud experiment today! They took turns using pipettes to add colourful drops onto the shaving foam and watched with excitement as the "rain" fell into the water below. A fun, hands-on activity that sparked curiosity, patience, and scientific thinking! 🌈☁️💧

Mānawatia a Matariki 💫

Last Friday at Junior Junction Kumeū we had the privilege of celebrating Matariki alongside our wonderful whānau with a disco night! With a performance from our preschool tamariki, music, laughter, and plenty of kai, it was a beautiful evening of coming together to celebrate this special time of year ✨

Lemon Volcanoes
Today the tamariki in the Kauri Room explored a fun science experiment using lemons, baking soda, and vinegar. They watched with excitement as the ingredients fizzed and bubbled like little volcanoes!
This hands-on experience encouraged curiosity, observation, and early scientific thinking as the children explored cause and effect while having lots of fun.

Teddy Bear Picnic Day – Kowhai Baby Room

Today we celebrated Teddy Bear Picnic Day! The tamariki and kaiako came dressed in their cosy pyjamas and brought along their favourite teddy bears, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere in our room.

As part of the celebration, the children created their own teddy bear artwork. They began by using sponges to paint the bear shapes, exploring colour, texture, and different painting techniques. Once the paint had dried, they carefully added the teddy bear's eyes, nose, mouth, and ears. This hands-on activity encouraged creativity, fine motor development, and decision-making as each child made their teddy bear unique.

Today our Preschool classroom at Avondale came together to celebrate Matariki by performing the Matariki Macarena and Tūtira Mai Ngā Iwi. Over the past few weeks, our tamariki have enjoyed learning the songs and actions, building their confidence while sharing the joy of music and working together as a group.
Ka pai, tamariki, on your wonderful performance! Wishing all of our whānau a safe and happy Matariki as you spend time reflecting, remembering, and celebrating together.
