Pink Shirt Day at Junior Junction Kumeū!! 💕💗💖💞💓🌸💝🩷👚
Today our tamariki and teachers proudly wore pink to support Pink Shirt Day and help spread the message of kindness, inclusion and supporting positive mental health.
We loved seeing everyone come together to show aroha, celebrate friendship and remind each other to always be kind.

The amazing is reading her beautifully self-illustrated books to our enraptured preschool children today (Kumeū) and tomorrow at Avondale. Each center has acquired her book collection too! Parents, these are wonderful books to have at home - Sharon sells them on-line and through selected bookstores. Google her website - thesingingpipipress for more info.

In our under 2s room, friendships are just beginning to blossom through simple, meaningful moments of play. Our pēpi learn to connect by sitting alongside each other, sharing resources, offering toys, and observing one another. As kaiako, we create a calm and nurturing environment where tamariki feel safe to explore these early relationships, modelling gentle interactions and supporting their growing social skills. These everyday experiences build a strong sense of belonging, helping our tamariki learn that they are valued.

In the Rimu room, the toddlers joyfully explored palm leaf painting outdoors, embracing the Easter spirit through creativity and nature. With curious hands and bright smiles, they dipped brushes into vibrant colors, carefully pressing and sweeping them across the textured leaves. This experience supported their sensory development and fine motor skills but also encouraged self-expression and a deeper appreciation for the natural environment during a meaningful celebration. junction Avondale

🚲 Ready, Set, Ride! 🛴
What a fun-filled Bike & Scooter Day we had with our tamariki! There was so much excitement as everyone arrived with their bikes, scooters, and helmets, ready for a day of movement and adventure.
Before we began, we talked about safety first wearing our helmets and shoes, riding carefully, and being aware of others. Our tamariki showed great understanding and responsibility as they put these into practice.
As they rode around, they developed their balance, coordination, and confidence. There were lots of smiles, laughter, and even a few friendly races, helping to build strong friendships and teamwork. Junior Junctiom Avondale

There is something truly special about working in early childhood. Every day at Junior Junction we are reminded why we love what we do.
It’s in the morning cuddles at drop off, the proud smiles when a child achieves something new, the giggles during messy play, and the quiet moments when a child reaches for your hand. These small moments are actually the biggest ones.
Being an early childhood teacher means celebrating firsts, comforting big feelings, encouraging curious minds, and watching little personalities grow more confident each day. We feel incredibly lucky to be part of these important early years and to build such special relationships with our tamariki and whānau.
The joy, laughter, and love that fills our centre every day is what makes Junior Junction such a wonderful place to be.
