Nurturing a love of literacy that grows with our tamariki 📚From the very beginning, we provide plenty of natural opportunities for tamariki to develop foundational literacy skills and discover the joy of stories.

There’s something very special about seeing tamariki gather around a book, turning pages, sharing ideas, retelling familiar stories and getting lost in their imaginations ✨

These everyday experiences are an important part of building a strong foundation for lifelong literacy skills.

This year at Village Green each room had meaningful discussions with their tamariki, fun filled activities, planting/harvesting veges for our Kai, arts/crafts and waiata! The Kaiako spent the week teaching tamariki about the meaning behind Matariki celebrations, and focusing on what each star in the cluster represents 💚
