No, we aren’t kidding. 😴🔥

Our newest class, coming to the schedule this September, is made for the bachata nerds who are hungry for drills and a full hour focused purely on technique.

No fancy moves. No combos. Just solid, deliberate repetition.

We’re stripping it back to cover the core foundations:

• Body movement
• Footwork precision
• Smooth transitions

If you want to level up your dancing for real, this is where it happens.

Prerequisites: Open to students who have completed the AF fundamentals syllabus. (New to us or unsure of your level? Send us a DM to organize a quick assessment!)

🗓 When: Mondays at 7:00 PM (Starting Sept 21st)
📍 Where: Studio 2, Empire Studios

Mark your calendars and come get bored with us.

Looking out for each other’s safety, body, and comfort comes first. Always. 🫶

Saying no or asking your partner to adjust isn’t rude. It’s part of healthy social dancing communication.

Real community is built on mutual respect, never on quietly enduring a painful dance to keep the peace.

Swipe through to read, and let’s keep our Auckland dance floors safe for everyone. ❤️

Good technique makes a clean dancer, but good etiquette makes a great community.

Whether you’ve been rocking with us at AF Dance for months or you’re stepping onto the floor for the very first time this week, these unwritten rules are what keep our space welcoming, safe, and fun for everyone in Auckland.

Leaders and followers, which one of these makes the biggest difference to your night when you’re out socializing? Let’s chat in the comments. 👇

The biggest misconception about partner dancing? That you actually need to bring a partner.

Walking into a studio alone can feel intimidating, but here’s the reality: almost everyone else is doing the exact same thing.

We structure our classes so that you’re constantly switching partners and dancing with everyone in the room. It takes all the pressure off, helps you learn way faster, and naturally breaks the ice.

Plus, you get total autonomy over how you want to learn. No outdated gender roles here - you choose to lead, follow, or master both based entirely on your own goals.

You don’t need to bring a partner to your first class. We promise you’ll leave with a whole room full of them by week four.

If you were stepping onto the floor this week, which role would you want to try first? Lead or follow? Let us know below 👇
