Carl van Roon is a New Zealand Martial Artist and Performance coach who is most well known for his success in competitve ITF Taekwon-Do. While he has represented NZ overseas in several combat sports, his results in ITF Taekwon-Do place him as one of the sport's most successful International competitors produced in the past decade. He is currently based in Auckland, New Zealand, and travels frequently to compete and conduct seminars Internationally.

Congratulations to Zoe McIntosh, Fraser Brown, Leela Menon and Tom Blackwell whose New Zealand feature film STYLEBENDER, will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival 2023 in Documentary Competition in June.
STYLEBENDER, offers an up-close view into the world of Israel Adesanya, the Nigerian born New Zealand based MMA fighter.
Directed by Zoe McIntosh (Dark Tourist, The World in Your Window), STYLEBENDER is one of the 19 films or 68% of the 28-strong competition line-up directed by women. Zoe McIntosh will attend with the support of the New Zealand Film Commission.
STYLEBENDER is a FluroBlack production, from filmmakers Fraser Brown (McLaren, Dawn Raid) Leela Menon (Dawn Raid, Mothers of the Revolution) and Tom Blackwell (The Subtle Art of Not Giving a #@%!), with Ahi distributing the film in New Zealand and Australia.

It was a memorable day grading to 4th Degree blackbelt in Taekwon-Do last weekend under Master Paul McPhail and Master Evan Davidson who are both lifelong martial artists I admire. I’d like to also give a special thank you to Master Mahesh Bhana who helped me achieve the top result of the grading. Finally, a special congratulations to all of the other attendees, particularly my martial arts brother Kman McEvoy 🙏🥋
