Kristin School

Kristin School Kristin is a leading independent, coeducational school of approximately 1800 students Kristin is structured as three schools within one whole school.

Kristin is an independent co-educational school of approximately 1800 students and is located in Albany, Auckland. Catering to students from Early Learning (Little Doves) to Year 13, Kristin School was founded in 1973 by a small group of North Shore parents and is owned by the Kristin School Charitable Trust. The school is non-denominational and welcomes students from all cultures and backgrounds.

The Junior, Middle and Senior Schools are all located on the same campus. Each school follows the philosophy of Kristin while creating their own distinctive character relative to the age group of the students. The differences between how each school functions have a positive impact on the students. As a child moves through the schools they encounter different ways of working, allowing them to consider the world, themselves and their peers in a variety of ways. This encourages the students to be inquisitive, show initiative and cope well with change. Providing a dual qualification pathway, Kristin School was the first school in New Zealand to introduce the International Baccalaureate Diploma and has continued to show innovation by introducing the IB Primary and Middle Years programmes in the Junior and Middle schools. The national curriculum is delivered alongside the International Baccalaureate programmes at all levels until students in the Senior School can elect to complete either the IB Diploma or NCEA standards in Year 12 and 13. Kristin's proud record of success as a leading IB school has allowed students to gain entry to some of the world's most prestigious universities. Kristin is committed to developing an international perspective and a sense of global awareness. Please note: This page is a means of communication for our school community. Congratulations Euphony! 🕊️ We are delighted to celebrate the success of our Years 9-13 upper voices choir 'Euphony', who last weekend were awarded a coveted Gold Award at the National Final of The Big Sing.

The national final took place over three days in the Christchurch Town Hall and featured the top 24 secondary school choirs in the country. This success is a testament to months of dedication, collaboration and learning by every member of the choir, and we are extremely grateful to have David Squire and Juan Kim leading the choir, with Sarah Backhouse-Smith and Gina Murray as choir managers.

Euphony has been a constant in the Kristin Performing Arts department since its formation in 1997.

Keep the Beat Alive 🥁

A very successful day as students and staff took turns drumming throughout the day to create a continuous symbolic heartbeat and raise awareness about heart health. A special thank you to Maia the Bear from Heart Kids for joining us and to everyone who got involved and helped make the day so special.

An incredibly creative initiative from our Kristin Heart Club ❤️
