There is nothing quite like the magic of literally seeing little baby chickens being born. From incubator to brooder box they are bringing so much joy to the children and families at Shooting Stars. We just had to share this beautiful experience with the lovely Ellerslie community. If you would like to see these baby chicks this week is a great week to visit. We are at 3 Tecoma St just by the Ellerslie Fruit and Vege stand.
What’s better than a gorgeous day outside, garden play, musical instruments to explore and messy play to jump into?! 💛
Absolutely love it when tamariki (children) take the lead in their learning! 💛
Recently at Shooting Stars one of our children decided to become an author and illustrator. This learner said "I'm going to make a counting book because that will be a good idea for children starting school soon", what a fabulous thought and so relevant so the lives of blossoming young learners!
Looking at the functions of books this child learnt...
📖 books have clear language used to capture or engage readers
📖 a front page that summarises the ideas within the story
📖 stories moves in a clear order and sequence
📖 some books can have made up stories (fiction), some are factual (non-fiction) and others can be interactive and involve the reader (like this story!)
