6月のお話会では、

おてだまあそび
雨をテーマにした絵本の読み聞かせ
てるてるぼうず作り（クラフト）

を予定しています。
雨の季節にぴったりの内容で、親子で楽しめるプログラムです。

みなさんのご参加をお待ちしています。

The first Sunday of every month is Japanese Storytime at Mt Roskill Library.

For our June session, we will enjoy:

-Otedama (traditional Japanese beanbag play)
-Rain‑themed stories
-A simple craft activity

As the rainy season is approaching, we will also make teruteru‑bōzu, the little weather dolls that children in Japan hang by the window to wish for sunny days. It’s a fun and easy craft for families.

We look forward to seeing you and sharing a lovely morning together.

Everyone is warmly welcome. No Japanese language ability is needed — just come and enjoy!

6月1日（月）の「にほんごおはなし会」は、
King’s Birthday（祝日） のためお休みになります。

次回の開催は 6月8日（月） です。
またみなさんにお会いできるのを楽しみにしています。

📚 Japanese Storytime at Albany Village Library – Storytime Cancellation

There will be no Japanese Storytime on Monday, 1 June
due to the King’s Birthday public holiday.

Our next session will be on Monday, 8 June.

多文化・多言語の中で育つ子どもたちの成長、そして子どもを育てるご家族を支えることは、JKETの大切なミッションです。今回の活動を通して、その実現には家庭だけでなく、地域からの理解や、多様なバックグラウンドや世代を超えた人々が集い、相互理解を促す機会が欠かせないことを改めて感じました。
Intergenerational Cultural Play のプロジェクトに参加できたことは、JKETにとって大きな学びとなりました。こうした機会をくださった皆様、そしてプロジェクトを支えてくださったすべての皆様に心よりお礼申し上げます。

At the core of JKET’s mission is the commitment to support the growth of children raised in multicultural and multilingual environments, along with the families who nurture them. Our recent project highlighted that achieving this mission involves more than just the efforts of individual families; it also requires understanding from the broader community. We aim to create safe opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds and generations to come together and foster mutual understanding.

Participating in the Intergenerational Cultural Play project was a valuable learning experience for JKET. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who provided us with this opportunity and to all who supported the project.

いつもわたしたちの日本語継承センターの授業でお世話になっているMeadowood Community Centreの Community Market に、このたび JKET もブース出店することになりました！

Four cultural groups — Burundi (Africa), Iran, Japan, and Pakistan — will come together to share their greetings, food, and cultural practices in a warm community event.

JKET will join as the Japan team, and we are looking for participants to join us!
You’ll help introduce Japanese greetings, food culture, and daily customs while also enjoying the chance to learn about other cultures.

【多世代交流プロジェクト終了！】

3回の制作セッションを経て、Intergenerational Cultural Play Project は5月17日に無事終了しました。
ご参加くださった皆さま、応援してくださった皆様、本当にありがとうございました。

昔ながらの遊びを作る作業するともにする中で世代を超えたつながりが生まれ、
NZで暮らす知恵や文化を分かち合う温かい時間になりました。

【Intergenerational Cultural Play Project Completed!】

After three creative sessions, the Intergenerational Cultural Play Project successfully concluded on May 17.
Thank you so much to everyone who joined us and supported us throughout the project.

Through making traditional play items together, we saw beautiful moments of connection across generations.
It became a warm space where we could share cultural knowledge and the wisdom of living in New Zealand.
