We’re also thrilled to see former PHS student Tisi Vehikite return to the Heat squad after spending time on the sidelines recovering from injury. Her return to representative rugby is a fantastic achievement and one we’re proud to celebrate.

During assembly students gave short cultural education talks about Tonga Culture. Students also encouraged our school community to use some everyday Tongan phrases, including “MALO E LELEI” (hello) and “MALO ‘AUPITO” (thank you).

A highlight of the week was our visit to Pukekohe Intermediate, where their junior students welcomed us and taught our students the MATE MA’A TONGA dance. We finished the celebrations with a lunchtime performance in the Hall

PTA THANK YOU
The PTA would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our wonderful sponsors for supporting our recent Quiz Night.

The evening was a great success, with plenty of fun, laughter and friendly competition enjoyed by all. We could not hold events like this without the generous donations and support from our local businesses and sponsors.

Funds raised by the PTA are put straight back into our school, benefiting both our students and staff.

The PTA is currently fundraising for much-needed covered areas around the school, providing students with shade and shelter during the school day.

Thank you once again to all of our generous sponsors for helping us make a difference in our school community. Your support is truly appreciated!

What an outstanding achievement for our two Pukekohe High School EPro8 teams, who competed in the Auckland Grand Finals of the Senior and Junior competitions on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 August!

The EPro8 Challenge is New Zealand’s inter-school science and engineering competition, with more than 35,000 students from across the country taking part each year. Students compete in school and inter-school events designed to develop science, engineering, problem-solving and teamwork skills, across Year 5–6, Year 7–8, Year 9–10 and Year 11–13 competitions.

To reach the Auckland Grand Finals, teams had to finish among the top 12 out of more than 130 teams in their respective competitions — an incredible achievement in itself!

Our PHS teams represented the school with pride, determination and excellent teamwork.

Both teams demonstrated our PHS values of kotahitanga, puumautanga and aarahitanga throughout the competition.

• Year 9 Black – 6th place, Year 9A Grade
• Year 9 Red – 4th place, Year 9C Grade

A huge effort from all of our players, coaches and supporters this season. It was awesome to see so many PHS students getting involved in netball and representing the school.

Our annual dance showcase TONIGHT - Friday 28 August.

Come along to watch a selection of senior assessment pieces, student choreography, and our competition team K9. An evening of diverse performances, a wide range of students and a celebration of the mahi they have been working on this year.
