This week our tamariki have been exploring in, through, and around the mud—squishing, scooping, digging, and discovering with all their senses.

What a wonderful moment of curiosity and connection with the natural world.

Today marks the end of Te reo Māori Kūki 'Arani / Cook Islands Māori Language Week 2026.
We have loved celebrating the language, culture, music, dance, and traditions of the Cook Islands alongside our tamariki and whānau. Our Kūki 'Arani Māori tamariki have shared their pride and identity with such joy, helping us all learn and celebrate together.

This week, our pēpi have been celebrating Cook Islands Language Week through hands-on experiences that connect them with the language, culture and traditions of the Cook Islands.

From collecting natural materials to creating our own ‘ei katu (flower crowns), to sensory explorations, our tamariki have been learning through play, curiosity and discovery.

A heartfelt meitaki ma'ata to our Cook Islands whānau for sharing your language, culture and traditions with us.

Me kite koe i te tuatua i tō'ou reo tupuna, e turanga rangatira tēnā nō'ou nō te uki amuri atu – With our language as our foundation, we will embrace the future.

Some learning journeys are especially meaningful because we've had the privilege of watching them unfold over many years.

David has been part of our centre since he was a toddler. One of David's greatest passions is drawing animals. What began as simple sketches has blossomed into detailed, thoughtful artwork, with each drawing reflecting not only his growing creativity but also his perseverance, confidence and developing fine motor skills.

It's moments like these that remind us that every child learns in their own unique way and at their own pace. When children are supported, encouraged and celebrated for who they are, they flourish.

Our Manurewa LIFE Community Kitchen is moving!! From Thursday 23rd July onward we will be meeting at Manu Tukutuku Community Centre - 32 Riverton Drive, Randwick Park (5.30pm). We will have opening night treats for families and kids. A free picnic pack for the first 50 families and sweets for the kids. See you there!
