A family in Kumeū are looking for a fun, caring and proactive nanny to join their family and care for their two boys, Mr C (4) and Mr O (2). They are looking for an initial six-month commitment, with the potential for the role to continue longer term.
Both boys are social, happy children who enjoy getting out and exploring. Mr C has a wonderful imagination and loves creative play, swimming and jiu-jitsu. He currently attends preschool and will be starting primary school in the new year. Mr O is relaxed and adventurous, loves being outdoors and is happiest when he can get out and discover the world around him. The boys have a great relationship and enjoy spending time together.
The family would love to find a nanny who is genuinely engaged with the boys and their interests, encourages their curiosity and takes the time to listen to their ideas and perspectives. Their ideal nanny will balance relaxed time at home with plenty of opportunities to get out and about, whether that’s trips to the zoo, MOTAT, Kelly Tarlton’s, local parks, bike rides or community activities. A calm, kind and consistent approach is important to this family. They believe in setting clear boundaries and following through in a firm but fair way, while always responding to the children with patience and connection. With Mr C preparing to start school in January, they would also love their nanny to support his growing independence and help make the transition to school a positive one.
Both boys attend preschool during parts of the week, including Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. For a nanny interested in the longer hours option, these child-free periods would provide dedicated time for meal preparation and household support. Duties may include preparing lunchboxes and the children’s dinner, keeping on top of child-related areas and helping with general household organisation where time allows. The children and their needs will remain the priority.
Dad works from home regularly from a separate office and Mum occasionally works from home or travels for work. The family are looking for someone proactive who can confidently manage the children’s day and naturally become part of their family rhythm.
The family are happy to arrange some paid handover time with their current nanny during the week before the role begins, giving the new nanny an opportunity to get to know the boys and their routines before starting. Strong references are essential.
