Beachlands-Maraetai Playcentre

We are offsite today 🫶🏻 Spending the morning at a local playground and celebrating one of our boys happy last day with us before school.

Our tamariki had a wonderful time at our science workshop on Thursday. We had a variety of fossils for them to explore and magnify. They experimented with bubble engineering, working together to take turns and build fine motor skills. Followed by magnetism experiments with ironsand sparking our tamariki’s curiosity exploring movement and cause and effect.

Visiting the whale sparked lots of curiosity and interest in the sea. We loved making some fish themed crafts, drawing whales and our fabulous facilitator Jayne even brought her smoker in and a fish and one of our boys had the best time preparing it with her. How lucky are we for this unique learning experience!

Lucky us got to visit Jonah the Whale at Maraetai Beach School.
We have loved learning about whales and the sea. It has sparked lots of curiosity and we’ve had lots of fun learning experiences around this theme.
