Making Mermaids is urgently looking for confident, strong swimmers to join our performer team for children’s birthday parties and other events.
This is not costume-only entertainment.
Our mermaids swim.
You would suit this role if you:
✨ Are a confident swimmer
✨ Feel natural performing in front of children
✨ Have a background in swimming, dance, drama, freediving, or fitness
✨ Are reliable and professional
Most bookings are at weekends.
Pay is very good, and bookings are generally 1 hour long.
Contractor role. Training provided.
This is a unique opportunity to combine performance, water skills, and storytelling.

Last weekend in Auckland, six-year-old Ella’s world turned gloriously tidal 🌊✨
Our much-loved Mermaid Celeste swam into the celebration and absolutely enchanted a pod of very Mer-crazy guests. From the first shimmering hello to the final chorus, there was dancing, singing, giggling and the kind of wide-eyed joy you simply cannot stage.
Games were played. Pearls were shared. Faces were painted into tiny ocean masterpieces. And judging by those smiles? Pure magic.
Mermaid Celeste’s voice floated through the party like a sea breeze, and the girls sang along as if they’d been rehearsing in a secret lagoon all week. It was delightful, it was heartfelt, and, even without water, it was everything a mermaid party should be 🐚💙
Happy Birthday, Ella. Thank you for letting us be part of your ocean adventure.
