Learn to Play the Guitar from Professional Guitarist Danny McCrum. The lessons are focused towards learning good technique, while having fun and enjoying the experience. Lessons are one on one and individually adapted to the students’ personal goals and musical preferences. There is a long list of songs to choose from and the student is also welcome to suggest songs they would like to learn. All t

he fundamentals of technique are covered within the context of songs, which enables people to progress faster and makes the experience more enjoyable. We regularly cover the following topics: chords, strumming, rhythm, scales, lead, fingerpicking, bar chords, time signatures, listening, dynamics, finding the key, working with other musicians, chord construction, reading music, improvisation, writing, working songs out by ear and much more. Danny has taught guitar at Auckland University and can help with your school or Uni music courses. Lessons are held weekly from Monday to Thursday.

I've written a short book called The Mode Code, about the seven modes of the major scale.

It took me so long to get my head around modes, and once I cracked it, I realised that was largely down to how poorly the subject is taught. I also realised a lot of people who think they understand modes don't actually have the full picture.

So I wrote The Mode Code to explain the seven modes properly, with the full context, in plain language so regular people can actually understand it.
