Putting food on the table has got harder for many local families. Kai foodbags are provided by the Massey Community Hub as well as Triangle Park Community Teaching Garden. Today we added lots of fresh spinach to the food bags
We have a dream that we have held close to our hearts but we also shared it with others who gave their encouragement and help. For a long time we have been on our very own Food Forest journey until we have finally reached the destination which it turns out was just over the back fence.

We are proud to share a glimpse of the site of our new Food Forest. It is the first in Massey and combined with our Maara kai it is the biggest Community Food Growing initiative in the area.
We made a sustainable table for the garden thanks to the awesome skills of our wonderful handyman man ! 🌲☘️🌿🌱🍃
So fortunate have some very special people in our Garden group. When it comes to teamwork they sure know how to shine

A lovely friend of the garden called by to give us two pots containing two passionfruit each . After some repotting, we now have four pots, each with a healthy passionfuit plant. 💚☘️🌱☘️💚🌱☘️🌱💚☘️🌱💚

Lots of tasks needed doing after the recent intense rain events . These two capable gentlemen are taking care of the grapevine and putting little protective covers on the fruit.

Time to indulge in salads, soups, stir fries and sandwiches etc. All the work is paying off and the garden is rewarding us with incredible fresh produce. What a joy!
