Causal unqualified position to join our team
Are you looking for that special place where love and kindness are the philosophy and PLAY is the curriculum?
Three Bears Titirangi Childcare are looking for a fulltime casual heart-centered kaitiaki to join our boutique home-like centre in Titirangi, West Auckland. This is an unqualified/in training casual position (until one of our team can return after extended leave). Applicants must be over the age of 17. We are not accredited employers so you must be able to work in New Zealand.
We are a small, mixed age Pikler/RIE inspired centre with a loving team of kaitiaki and a strong commitment to a “culture of kindness"
Our home away from home is licensed for a maximum of 24 tamariki, mixed age with up to 10 under twos. We offer a peaceful haven where strong primary relationships and continuity of care allow each child to unfold naturally in their own way and time. This position will be working alongside the toddler cohort 1.5 to 2.5 years and staying with them as they grow.
Guided by the work of Dr Emmi Pikler, we have a strong key kaitiaki (key teacher) system in place. This will allow you to get to know your cohort of tamariki and whanau well from the very first visit. You will be supported by the strong transition process we follow and the rest of the team. You will be working closely with the other pepe and toddler kaitiaki.
What we offer:
Work life balance with 8am to 4.30pm hours.
This role is for 5 days per week; with regular hours (while needed, plenty of notice will be given of any change) of around 35 hours per week.
Above minimum wage for unqualified kaitiaki.
Regular weekly non-contact times, mentoring and all the other good stuff to help you grow.
If this sounds like somewhere you’d like to be, please email your CV and a brief description of your current knowledge of Dr Emmi Pikler’s approach and the RIE philosophy, if any, or why you feel you would be perfect for this role to Jen at [email protected]

We are looking for a heart-centred Kaitiaki to join our boutique infant toddler centre in Titirangi. This role will be a mix of non-contact/admin cover and relieving to start. This person would need to be fully vaccinated as per mandate (including their booster), over the age of 17 and be able to work in NZ. We are open to supporting someone who is wanting to gain experience in ECE and are flexible with what this role looks like. Students wanting a home centre or school leavers are welcome to apply. We value care and kindness, and we can help grow your knowledge in our why.
We are a Pikler/RIE inspired centre currently licensed for just 12 infants/toddlers and maintain a minimum ratio of 1:4, but more often 1:3, in our peaceful homelike centre ❤️ We are in the process of growing our boutique centre to cater for 24 children up to the age of 6. This growth is likely to be completed late April/May 2022 and will provide the opportunity for this person to transition into a full time permanent role.
We believe in free movement, child-led learning and “the relationship is all”.
We have strong connections with Whānau and a loving team of Kaitiaki with a strong commitment to a “culture of kindness”.

Due to the change of care needs of our Three Bears Titirangi community we have made the hard decision to reduce our operating hours from 1st February 2022.
Covid-19 has changed the way whanau are enrolling in childcare and their care needs have changed from pre Covid-19 days.
As we are not seeing the high need for our old 7.30am-5.30pm hours we have reduced our long day hours to still be able to provide the same quality care for working families, just with more work/life balance.
With kindness,
Three Bears Titirangi

Been a long time between post so thought I would share our mid winter refresh with you all.
Our environments are ever changing and evolving with the tamariki we have with us. They represent there urges, interests and stages of each of our tamariki.
So beautiful to see how creative the team is in providing these environments. And that winter sun! 😍
Exciting things for Three Bears Titirangi are coming so stay posted...

Three Bears Titirangi is introducing cloth nappies! This coming Monday (the 9th November) we will be starting to use cloth nappies in the centre.
What does it mean for you as a parent? Nothing much changes for your family. The amount of nappies you bring will reduce, as they will only need one nappy per day to go home in.
We take care of all the washing. Less chemicals will be touching baby's skin and our washing roster insures they are kept clean and sanitary for use at the centre. If you have any questions please feel free to ask!
Disposable nappies make up about 75% the waste we send to landfill here. Switching to reusable nappies, upping our composting efforts and reducing what we send to landfill will help reduce our waste foot print for future generations.
Fun fact: disposable nappies take 500 years 😳 to brake down in landfill.
If every baby in NZ used just one cloth nappy a day that would save over 1million nappies going to landfill every year!

We are excited to welcome everyone back on Monday, we have missed you all! 🥰 we have been conducting an environment review over this time and had a chance to put our plans to action as we prepare for reopening. Here is a snap shot of our home 💚
