At this time a week ago, the Tongan Group took to the stage as the last of our 13 Cultural Evening performances. They closed the evening with powerful song, dance and visible pride in their culture.
As we have shared photos throughout the past week, we have been reminded just how fortunate we are to belong to such a diverse and vibrant school community.
Cultural Evening celebrates many of the cultures that enrich our school and it makes us proud to see students sharing their heritage with such confidence and joy.

FIRST IN NEW ZEALAND!
Congratulations to our Ethics Olympiad teams! The Ethics Olympiad is an academic competition where students explore real-world ethical dilemmas. Teams earn points by showing clear reasoning and engaging thoughtfully with different perspectives. It pushes critical thinking, collaboration and learning how to navigate complex moral questions together. St. Mary's College entered two teams and our senior team placed first in New Zealand. The girls were awarded their medals in assembly yesterday and will now compete in the online international event. Our junior team are also to be congratulated with their 5th placing. Well done girls!

A warm welcome to our newest Cultural Evening performers - the Latin American group! Their bright, twirling skirts brought an extra splash of colour to the evening.

A perennial crowd favourite, our Irish Group! The girls' feet moved so fast they were almost impossible to photograph!
Their performance was also a fitting nod to our school's origins, honouring the Sisters of Mercy who came from Ireland and shaped the community we are today.
