It's Children's Book Week! Our tamariki have loved sharing their favourite pukapuka/books with their friends, and exploring their favourite stories in different ways.
Our tamariki have been learning about Jesus feeding the 5,000 this week. We've also been making the most of the sunshine with lots of sensory exploration outdoors, and we've seen some impressive mahi toi/art and hangs/construction works as tamariki mahi tahi/work together.

This week, our tamariki enjoyed varied games and songs,and used their imaginations to be a mum, a dad, or a baby. Along the way, they explored counting and measurement by building towers with blocks and counting each block to see how tall they could make them.

We also wrapped up our Bible Story, Jesus Calms the Storm, where we all learned that God gives peace, even when things feel stormy.

What a fun, sunny week we’ve had at kindergarten!

The children enjoyed exploring loose parts, creating amazing constructions, and sharing their ideas with one another. They were also immersed in books and stories, using drawing, building, and imaginative play to retell and create their own stories.

Our Bible story this week was Jesus Calms the Storm. We learned that Jesus is always with us, and we can trust Him and have faith in God’s love and power.

Our tamariki have been making the most of the sunshine this week, despite the chillier weather. We've seen some amazing hanga/building, auahatanga/creativity, and manaaki/care for our friends.
Our Bible story was focused on a miracle that Jesus performed in the story of the hole in the roof and tamariki learned that we can always go to God when we need help. A big welcome/ haere mai to our new families who have joined MBK this week. We look forward to this learning journey alongside your children.

A warm welcome back to all our kindergarten families, and a special welcome to the new children and whānau joining our learning community this term. We are delighted to have you with us.

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we continue to value children's curiosity, ideas and wonder. As we observe their interests, we celebrate new learning, encouraging children to explore, question, create, and build meaningful relationships with others and the environment.

Our Bible story of Jesus calling his special friends, the disciples. The children have been learning that Jesus invited ordinary people to follow Him, and that we too can choose to be his followers by showing kindness, love, compassion, and care for others everyday.

A wonderful highlight this week was our Matariki Celebration, where families and friends gathered together to honour this special time. We were incredibly proud of the children's performance which they shared with confidence and joy.

A special thank you to Kim, Charlie's poppa for generously gifting us with a Matariki book and sharing stories of how they celebrate Matariki as a family.

A big thank you to all the families, your presence made the evening a memorable celebration.

What a wonderful way to finish Term 2! It‘s hard to believe how quickly the term has flown by. Our kindy has been filled with laughter, curiosity, creativity, and joyful learning. It has been a delight to see friendships blossom as our tamariki explored, created, built, and learned alongside one another. Their ideas, conversations, artwork, and constructions have truly brought our learning spaces to life.
Through our Bible stories, the children have continued to learn about God’s love, grace, and faithfulness, encouraging kindness and care within our kindy community.
Thank you to all our families for your ongoing support this term. We wish you a safe, relaxing, and joyful school holiday, and we can‘t wait to welcome everyone back for more learning and adventure in Term 3! GOD BLESS❤️

We had an exciting week with lots of new learning for our tamariki despite the chilly and wet weather. Tamariki enjoyed lots of creative play through story telling and building on their language skills and have enjoyed their learning both inside and in the outside environment.
Our Bible story on Jonah and the big fish was popular with the children and we are having lots of korero about obedience and God's love. We wish you a happy weekend. Keep warm and we look forward to seeing you next week which is the last week for term 2.

We had an exciting week with lots of new learning for our tamariki. Children explored through play the multiple languages of learning.

Games, art activities, pretend play, music performances. The highlight being sharing stories of themselves, their families, pets, favourite characters through their drawings. Thereby developing an understanding of the values of aroha, manaakitanga, rescuing and helping others.

Daniel in the Lions Den helped children's understanding to trust in God in all circumstances and know that Jesus is Our Best Friend, He is always there with us.

Jesus says, 'Come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-29

We've been learning about Daniel and the lions this week, and how we can ask and trust God to look after us no matter what. He is always with us!
A highlight this week for our older tamariki was a visit to Milford School. It was lovely to reconnect with our Kindy friends! We also got to meet the kaiako/teachers, share some kai/food, and tākaro/play together!
