Have you ever noticed how common sayings sound so perfect, yet there’s always an opposite that feels just as true?
It’s like life itself is speaking in contradictions, teaching us to think, not just follow.
Life is paradoxical: Reality often has opposing truths existing at the same time.

life is situational, not absolute. Most of these sayings (given below) are general rules-of-thumb, not hard laws

Until the self is purified, common senses are clouded while clarity and higher wisdom remain distant.

An impure mind becomes a storm of confusion and doubt, swaying a person to see friends as enemies one day and enemies as friends the next.
There is no balance in their head, they replay situations opposite to reality, trapped in inner turmoil.
This cloudedness comes from impurities one must rise above it and deepen self-purification to see clearly.

Life is full of maya: dramas, illusions in the world outside and on top of that our own inner storms!!!
To navigate this takes skill, awareness, and courage.
Yoga trains us in exactly this skillfulness!!

Watch these sayings flip-flop… and still make sense! quotes that argue with themselves

8. Absence makes the heart grow fonder ↔ Out of sight, out of mind

9. Too many cooks spoil the broth ↔ Many hands make light work

10. Don’t judge a book by its cover ↔ First impression is the last impression

11. Honesty is the best policy ↔ Sometimes the truth hurts

12. Forgive and forget ↔ Never forgive, never forget

13. The early bird catches the worm ↔ Good things come to those who wait

14. Birds of a feather flock together ↔ Opposites attract

15. Silence is golden ↔ Speak up / say what you feel

16. Money isn’t everything ↔ Money makes the world go round

17. Follow your heart ↔ Think with your head

18. Seeing is believing ↔ Believe and you will see

बेवक़्त अगर जाऊँगा सब चौंक पड़ेंगे,
एक उम्र हुई घर गए, लोग भूल पड़े होंगे। (If I were to return unannounced, all would be startled;
An age has passed since I went home perhaps they have forgotten me.)

The verse captures the quiet distance in the life of a yogi one who has renounced the familiar to walk inward, into the silence of truth. A yogi’s “home” is not merely a physical dwelling; it represents all that was once personal family, identity, comfort, belonging. To leave that behind is not an act of rejection but an inward migration toward the Self.

In ancient traditions, many yogis began as householders who, turned toward spiritual life.( stories of King Janaka, Buddha, Nanak...) Some returned, their eyes holding other worlds, others never looked back. For when the journey is inward, for the one who left no longer exists, and the one who returns belongs everywhere and nowhere.

Someone asked in the class group, “Is there a session today?”
Another replied, “Tomorrow.”

Immediately came the message,
“Oh thank God… bach gaye aaj!” 😄

We all had a good laugh.

But it also reminded me of something. In yoga there are many ways to support the body. Some days we practice āsanas and slowly the body becomes stronger and sleep improves naturally. On other days the body may need a gentler approach. During periods, illness, low energy, or simply after exhausting days, deeper rest becomes just as important. That is why in our space all sessions are open to everyone once enrolled. You can join āsana, relaxation, or the sleep practice depending on what your body needs that day.

Modern life has also quietly disturbed our natural sleep rhythm. Late screens, artificial light and constant stimulation keep the brain alert even at night. People sleep but still wake up tired.

Science shows why good sleep matters so much. When sleep deepens, the brain moves into slower alpha and theta patterns that calm the nervous system. In deeper stages the body does its real repair work. Hormones rebalance, immunity strengthens and the brain clears accumulated waste.

That is why we introduced the Night Sleep Sessions. A simple guided practice before sleep. You just lie down and listen.

People are reporting deeper sleep, calmer mornings and more steady energy through the day.

And the best part is that anyone can do it. Even elderly parents, people recovering from illness, or those who cannot yet practice physically.

Sometimes the first step to feeling better is simply learning how to sleep well again.

Recently, during a yogic counselling conversation with one of my students, a topic came up that reminded me of an interesting psychological phenomenon sometimes described as a phantom relationship:-

A phantom relationship is when someone continues to hold an emotional attachment to a person from the past long after the real connection has ended. That person may get idealized, blamed, or turned into a symbol of what could have been. Even though it exists mostly in the mind, it can quietly influence present life through comparisons, unresolved emotions, or inner conflict. It can also affect current relationships and the people who are part of one’s life now. Research in psychology shows that practices like yoga can help people process unresolved emotions and bring the mind back to clarity and presence in the present moment.

In relationships this feels as emotional unavailability. A partner may still be psychologically attached to a past person or story and therefore not fully present with the partner in their life now. Relationship studies often say that emotional absence or emotional betrayal can be very painful because it creates distance and insecurity even without physical infidelity. Over time this can strain relationships and affect the wellbeing of everyone involved. Learning to release unresolved attachments and returning attention to the present relationship becomes very important for personal and relational health.

Another difficult aspect is that you see people often struggle to truly settle into a healthy relationship. Commitment issues because a part of them is still holding on to the past, even if they do enter a new relationship, they may keep comparing, withdrawing emotionally, or remaining partially invested in an old story in their mind. This can be very confusing and painful for the partner who is present and trying to build something real, because the relationship is being measured against a memory rather than lived in the present.

relationship research says that men and women can respond differently to this phenomena . In many situations men seem more likely to stay psychologically attached to an unresolved past attachment, while women may process and move forward emotionally in different ways. Emotional infidelity or elabsence can be more painful for many women, while men on average react more strongly to physical infidelity. When emotional presence is missing it can quietly damage trust, weaken the bond between partners and disturb the wellbeing of everyone involved.

Holding on to unresolved attachments from the past rarely serves anyone and often stops people from being fully present in the life and relationships they have today!!!

"Jab main tha tab Hari nahin,
Ab Hari hai main nahin.
Prem gali ati saankari,
Ta mein do na samahin.”

Main khud ko dhoondhne nikla tha, sab kuch paas hota hi gaya...

Jis cheez ko sab se zyada chaha, wahi door mujh se hota gaya.

Main khud ko dhoondhne nikla tha, par log mujhko samjhane lage...to sab jaisa hi lagta hai, yeh kehkar mujhe bhulane lage.

Main jis din sab kuch chhod ke baitha Us din mujhe sab chhod gaya, main jis din khaali haath khada tha Us din hi Khuda mujhe mila tha...

Ab mere sheeshe toot gaye, par main pehli baar saaf hoon. Ab mere haath khaali hain, par main pehli baar ameer hoon.

With God’s grace, I’m committing this year to support your practice more deeply and consistently. A new morning session begins this Monday at 5:00 a.m., New Zealand time and some friends have already joined.

The morning sessions will help those who can’t attend evenings and offers flexible makeup options for evening practitioners who miss practice. A win-win for everyon

My work has been purely word of mouth over the years, and I would be grateful if you shared this with anyone who may benefit 🙏🏽

There is no real need to begin anything in such a heightened tone; it would be wiser to move slowly, observe, and commit only when one is truly sure. Overstimulating both oneself and the other creates attachment, confusion, and hurt. maturity lies in steadiness, not intensity.

Living what I love most: yoga, teaching, sharing, and practicing and whenever I get a little time, I joyfully explore nature, food, and culture.
A spontaneous drive, half an hour from home... exploring the beautiful countryside around where I live. Sharing a few clips because South India is truly breathtaking 🌿 I think if I keep doing this, I might need to upgrade to a jeep..! but for now, I’m just soaking in the joy of these peaceful landscapes!
I hope you will too enjoy watching them

Brazilian wood plant is flowering! 🌸 (In many cultures, when a Brazilian wood plant flowers it is often considered lucky)

May these rare blessings touch your life too, just as you share this beautiful moment with me. 🌸✨

The entire space is filled with its fragrance each night...feels softer, calmer, and more alive with its sweet scent. Nature truly knows how to surprise and reward us when we least expect it. 🌿✨
