End of samoan language week celebrations❤️💙🇼🇸

Tālofa lava aiga❤️💙

As we wrap up Vaia*o o le Gagana Samoa, we reflect on a week of celebrating the beauty, strength, and richness of the Samoan language, culture, and heritage. We are so proud of our tamaiti🥹😍 they did exceptionally well this week - participating, learning and embracing the Samoan culture and heritage❤️💙

Thank you to our aiga who took the time to come in and share the culture with our tamaiti, learn and teach new songs, share stories, participate in our celebrations and embrace the spirit of fa’a Samoa. Every conversation, song, prayer, and lesson helps keep the Samoan language alive for future generations.

Let us continue to speak, teach, and cherish our language beyond this week, ensuring that it remains a living treasure for our children and grandchildren.

“E le uma le aoaoina o le gagana ma le aganuu Samoa.”
The learning of the Samoan language and culture never ends.

🌺 Eseta’s Graduation & Birthday Celebration 🎓🎂

Today we celebrated Eseta’s graduation and birthday with her aiga and friends.

We sang songs, shared cake, and celebrated this special milestone together. Eseta received her graduation certificate and a special gift as she gets ready for school.

A big thank you to Eseta’s aiga for the delicious cake, wonderful goodie bags, and the bouncy castle. Our tamariki had so much fun and enjoyed a very special day together.

We are so proud of you, Eseta, and wish you all the best for your next learning journey.

Happy Graduation and Happy Birthday, Eseta! 💖

TERRIFIC THURSDAY!!

Today, our tamaiti had an amazing day learning about the Samoan culture. They were introduced to Samoan fruits and vegetables. Grace and Evanna's Pappa showed us how to grate the coconut and scrap the taro. Our tamaiti also took turns to do the same. Sharon (Amaya's Mum) sang a few Samoan pese with our tamaiti while playing the piano. Fa'afetai lava Aiga for coming to the Centre and sharing their beautiful culture with all of us.

We will be having Dress-up Day tomorrow. Aiga, please dress up your tamaiti in Island attire. Have a restful evening. See you all tomorrow.

Alofa,
PK Team

Manuia le a*o Tofi

Koru babies had a wonderful time exploring Samoan culture through hands-on fun and creativity! They became enthusiastic little chefs as they helped prepare panipopo, the traditional sweet coconut buns and thoroughly enjoying the sticky, delicious treat afterward. The excitement continued as they waved vibrant scarves during a lively Samoan action song and dance, filling the room with laughter and movement. Immersing children in these rich cultural practices at such a young age is incredibly meaningful; it fosters a deep sense of belonging, builds a beautiful foundation for nurturing their Samoan identity, and instills a lifelong pride in their heritage.

Talofa lava,

As we continue celebrating Samoan Language Week, the children are having fun learning numbers and colors, especially while building with blocks. We even explored the globe together and pointed out exactly where Samoa is located.
