A group of Year 13 students participated in a Pilates class as part of their Health assessment, Evaluate health practices currently used in New Zealand. Throughout the experience, students explored the philosophy of Pilates and examined how the Complementary Health Practice aims to improve Hauora (wellbeing) and decrease stress. Students reflected on their own stress levels before and after the session and, how their mood, focus, and overall sense of wellbeing improved after the session.

Over the weekend, Taine entered the Eagle Open, a mats-style boxing event that
drew fighters from as far as Wellington.
Taine delivered an outstanding performance, taking Gold in the 15+ division, while
also stepping into a leadership role by coaching three other fighters from Dynamic
Martial Arts.
Taine's progress has been supported by a strong network of coaches and training
partners. Dynamic Martial Arts Silverdale, Alister from Wellsford Community Boxing and Lou from Mad Mels Movement have played key roles in refining his skills and helping his performance.
This achievement marks another milestone in Taine's ongoing journey toward taking his 2nd Dan Black Belt in August. He also has trials coming up for the NZ KickboxingTeam. We wish him all the best with these!

As part of their Level 2 Health Assessment 2.3, “Take action to enhance an aspect of people’s wellbeing within the school or wider community,” a group of Year 12 Health students, partnered with to help clean up the Wellsford township.

Students and a local council member spent over four hours working throughout the community to make the town cleaner and more appealing for local residents and visitors. We are proud of the positive contribution these students made to the wider Wellsford community

Volleyball Mixed 🏐

Two teams headed up to Kensington to compete in the Northland Secondary School Mixed Volleyball Competition on the 14th of May.

It was a fun day with lots of skills being showcased throughout the competition. Team 1 had an awesome day, winning all 3 of their games against Dargaville High School, Whangārei Boys’ High School, and Kamo High School, taking out 1st place in Group A.
Rodney 2 also had some strong games, winning 2 out of 3 matches against Tauraroa Area School and Excellere College. Unfortunately, they were unable to hold off Whangārei Boys’ High School, placing them 3rd in Group D.
Well done to all players for their effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the day! 👏🏐
