Following the passing of Education and Training (ECE Reform) Amendment Bill last week, Kindergartens Aotearoa says this signals a further move to downgrade the quality of early childhood education.

The law is now focused on reducing the costs to business at the expense of our children. It ignores research evidence related to teaching and learning because of its narrow focus on costs.

Early childhood education is an investment in our youngest children that has lifelong benefits. Children must remain the central purpose of early childhood education, and their interests must be the priority.

Why is Early Childhood Education in our country being attacked?

Devonport Community Crèche’s 30th Birthday 28/07/2025

🎉 Devonport Community Crèche is turning 30!

Join us for a special night of community and connection as we celebrate 30 years of Crèche on Clarence Street.

This event will raise funds to help us keep doing what we do best for tamariki, while also celebrating the dedicated kaiako who’ve shaped our journey — including centre manager Tessa Dunleavy who has been with us since day one. This milestone is as much hers as it is Crèche’s!

Whether you're a past or present whānau, neighbour, or friend of the crèche, we’d love to see you there.
